But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location in Bouaakaz is one of those neighborhoods that feels authentically Marrakech without being touristy – you know what I mean? It’s about a 15-minute drive from the medina, which honestly works out perfectly because you get that real residential vibe where locals are just going about their day, kids playing in the streets, and the evening call to prayer echoing from the nearby mosque creates this incredibly peaceful atmosphere.

The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. It’s got that 4-star polish without being sterile – the kind of place where you can actually spread out and live a bit. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just for show), and I actually found myself making morning coffee there instead of rushing out. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or catch up on work, and the air conditioning works well, which is crucial during those intense Marrakech summers. What really got me was the attention to small details – decent water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and enough outlets where you need them. The parking situation is straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Marrakech will appreciate.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart – it’s close enough to the airport that you’re not stressed about early flights (maybe 10 minutes), but far enough that you don’t hear planes constantly. The neighborhood has this great little evening market where locals shop, and there’s a café about two blocks away where the mint tea is exceptional and costs a fraction of what you’d pay near Jemaa el-Fna. The host clearly knows the area well and gave me directions that actually made sense, not just “turn left at the big building.” During my stay, I noticed how quiet it gets at night – just the occasional moped and those neighborhood sounds that make you feel like you’re experiencing real Marrakech life. That 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place where everything just works without drama, and you find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even left.

  The place is bigger in person, comfortable too. The young guy there made up for it by walking us a distance to get some taxis.
  
  What could be improved: The shower doesn’t work alright making it hard to have a decent bath. The water runs either extremely hot or extremely cold, there’s no in between. Also gets blocked as you are bathing.
