It’s tucked away in the Gueliz district – which, honestly, is where you want to be if you’re not totally obsessed with staying right in the medina chaos. The building itself is pretty typical for the area, but once you’re inside apartment 1 on the first floor, it feels like someone’s stylish Marrakech pied-à-terre rather than a rental.

The pool situation is what really sold me, though. I mean, after spending hours wandering through Jemaa el-Fna and the souks, coming back to your own little oasis is… well, it’s everything. The water’s actually clean (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and there’s enough space around it to properly sprawl out with a book. The apartment setup works perfectly for this too – you can grab snacks from the kitchen, which is surprisingly well-equipped, and just camp out poolside. I spent way more time there than I planned, especially during those brutal afternoon hours when exploring the city feels impossible.

Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk from Avenue Mohammed V, where all the decent cafés and restaurants are. The neighborhood has this interesting mix of locals and expats, so you get authentic Moroccan life without feeling like you’re completely out of your depth. Rue Al Mouqaouama isn’t exactly bustling, which means you can actually sleep at night – something I definitely appreciated after a few nights in noisier parts of the city. The residece essafa building is easy enough to find once you know what you’re looking for, though I’d recommend having the address ready in Arabic for taxi drivers.

What really impressed me was how the place manages to feel both Moroccan and comfortable for international travelers. The décor has those beautiful traditional touches – gorgeous tilework, rich textiles, that sort of thing – but the practical stuff actually works. Hot water, reliable wifi, air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. It’s those little details that make the difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. Plus, having a proper kitchen means you can hit the local markets and try cooking with all those incredible spices and produce, which honestly became one of my favorite parts of the trip.
