You know what caught me off guard about Appart Majorelle? The name made me think it’d be right next to the famous gardens, but it’s actually tucked away in Quartier Rouidate – which, honestly, turned out to be way better than I expected. The location is sort of this sweet spot where you’re still in the thick of things but not dealing with the tourist chaos that surrounds the main medina entrances.

The apartment itself sits in this modern building called Immeuble ASSAFAA 2, and I’ll be straight with you – from the outside, it looks like every other residential block in new Marrakech. But once you’re inside, there’s this terrace that completely changes the game. I mean, you can actually see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the wifi (which they proudly mention in the name) actually works reliably, unlike half the riads I’ve stayed in where it cuts out every time someone uses the microwave. The setup is properly equipped too – not just hotel-style with two towels and a prayer, but like someone actually lives there. Full kitchen, decent coffee setup, the kind of details that make you feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local.

What really sold me on the area was walking to Avenue Mohammed V in the mornings – there’s this little café about three blocks down where the locals grab their café au lait, and you’ll see the same faces every day. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where kids are playing soccer in the small squares and women are chatting from their balconies. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa if you’re feeling energetic, or you can catch a petit taxi for practically nothing. The street noise dies down around 10 PM, which is a blessing if you’re trying to recover from jet lag – something you definitely won’t get if you stay right in the medina where the calls to prayer echo off every wall at 5 AM.

I was skeptical about the 9.3 rating at first (aren’t we all?), but after spending a week there, I get it. It’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but everything just… works. The host responds to messages quickly, the hot water doesn’t run out mid-shower, and there’s actual space to spread out your stuff. Plus, having a terrace where you can sit with a book and a mint tea while watching the sunset over the city – that’s the kind of simple luxury that makes you want to extend your stay.

  Grand appartement moderne, très fonctionnel et confortable, parfait pour notre famille de 5 personnes.
  Bonne communication avec notre hôte malgré l'arrivée en autonomie.

  On trouve facilement à se garer, on rejoint en moins de 10 minutes de voiture le centre ville de Marrakech

  Mooi ingerichte appartement en ideaal gelegen.
  Dicht bij alles maar toch niet vol in de drukte wat het voor ons aangenamer maakte.
  Ook de mensen beneden aan het restaurant/fitness/hammam/kapper zijn super vriendelijk en hebben ons leuke tips gegeven om ons verblijf in marrakech nog leuker te maken.

  The apartment is located in quiet and safe neighborhood about 40 mins walk from the old town (Medina) – we called a taxi (inDrive) to reach it almost every day. During check-in, the key was handed over by Faoud, who is the helper of the host. He doesn't speak English but it was not a problem at all. The apartment looks exactly as in the photos: a spacious living room with kitchen and dining, bathroom with toilet and two bedrooms, one with a small balcony. It's on the 4th floor and you can reach it by an elevator. It was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The communication with the host went well, she was also kind to let us use the air conditioner for heating during the nights due to the colder December weather. There is a nice outdoor restaurant downstairs (Kech Food) where we had nice breakfasts and dinner takeaways (they accept cards).

  Great location, short walk from many mosques as well as Jardin Mejorelle and ATMs. There is also a restaurant located downstairs which serves great food and will help you if you wish to change larger notes for coins. The owners of the property were very helpful and are always willing to take time to help you with booking activities or give general help, whilst being very responsive. For the price, location and general atmosphere I will be recommending this accommodation and hopefully returning in the future.
