I mean, you’re literally steps from Avenue Mohammed V, which is perfect because you can walk to the Medina without dealing with the chaos of staying right inside it. The Hivernage neighborhood is actually brilliant for this – it’s got that slightly more modern Marrakech vibe but you’re still close enough to hear the evening call to prayer drifting over from Kutubiyya Mosque.

The apartment itself really does live up to that 9 rating, and I say that as someone who’s usually skeptical of high scores. The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean, if that makes sense. There’s this great little balcony that catches the morning light, and the kitchen actually has proper equipment – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. I ended up making breakfast most mornings because the local market on Rue de Yougoslavie is maybe a five-minute walk, and there’s something really satisfying about starting your day with fresh bread and local honey rather than another hotel buffet. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which honestly matters more than people admit when you’re trying to figure out your next day’s plans or stay in touch with home.

What really sells this place though is the location without the tourist trap pricing. You’re close enough to walk to Gueliz for dinner – there’s this incredible little place called Al Fassia that locals actually go to – but far enough from the main hotel strip that you don’t have tour groups gathering outside your window at 7 AM. The building itself is quiet, which is no small thing in Marrakech. I actually slept better here than I did at some of the riads in the Medina, where you’re constantly hearing scooters and late-night conversations echoing off the walls. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no dramatic lobby performance, just keys and practical information about the neighborhood. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the hot water takes a minute to get going, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for Morocco and hardly worth complaining about when everything else works so well.
