Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Appartement de luxe B5 1er” on the booking site, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit fancy-schmancy, but once you actually get there, you realize it’s just really well-done luxury without the pretentious attitude. The place sits right in the heart of Marrakech, and I mean properly in the thick of things – you can hear the call to prayer echoing from nearby mosques in the morning, which honestly becomes this oddly soothing soundtrack to your stay.

What struck me most was how the apartment manages to feel both authentically Moroccan and genuinely comfortable for travelers who need their modern conveniences. The traditional tilework is absolutely gorgeous (and I’m usually not one to get excited about interior design), but they’ve paired it with actually decent WiFi and air conditioning that works – you know what I mean? Those little things that can make or break a trip when it’s 40 degrees outside and you need to upload photos or just cool down after wandering through the souks all day. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which surprised me since so many places just give you a mini-fridge and call it good. I ended up cooking breakfast a few times using spices I’d bought at the market nearby – there’s something really satisfying about making Moroccan mint tea in an actual Moroccan kitchen.

The location is what really seals the deal though. You’re close enough to the medina that you can walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa square in about fifteen minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant chaos and tourist touts right outside your door. The neighborhood has this nice residential feel – I’d see the same shopkeeper every morning getting his store ready, and there’s a little café around the corner where locals actually hang out, not just tourists. Parking can be a bit tricky (well, parking anywhere in Marrakech is an adventure), but the host was super helpful with directions and honestly knew the area better than my GPS did. The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you stay there – it’s not perfect, I mean the hot water takes a minute to kick in and the stairs are a bit steep, but those are minor things when everything else just works. Plus, you’re getting legitimate luxury touches like really good linens and thoughtful details throughout the space. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was traveling with friends since there’s enough space to spread out but still feel like you’re experiencing the real Marrakech.

  J’ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement ! L’endroit est impeccable, bien aménagé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. La literie est très confortable, et tout est pensé pour qu’on s’y sente comme chez soi. L’emplacement est idéal, à proximité des commerces et des commodités. Je recommande vivement cet appartement et n’hésiterai pas une seconde à y revenir lors de mon prochain passage !
