You know what really surprised me about this place? It’s tucked away in Hivernage – honestly one of the better neighborhoods if you want to stay somewhere that feels genuinely Moroccan but without the tourist chaos. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the main square (maybe 15-20 minutes if you don’t mind the heat), but you actually get some peace and quiet here.

The apartment itself is in Résidence Nour 7, which sounds fancier than it looks from the street, but don’t let that fool you. Once you’re inside, it’s actually really well done. The owners clearly put thought into the details – proper water pressure in the shower (trust me, this matters in Morocco), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals. I stayed there during Ramadan last year and appreciated being able to make my own breakfast since most cafés were closed during the day. The living room has this great afternoon light, and there’s enough space to spread out if you’re traveling with someone else and need a bit of breathing room.

What I really liked was how quiet it gets at night. Hivernage isn’t like the medina where you’ve got scooters honking until 2 AM – it’s more residential, so you can actually sleep with the windows open when it’s not too hot. The building itself is pretty typical for the area, nothing fancy but solid, and you’re on the first floor so no hauling luggage up endless stairs. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (like everywhere in Marrakech), but the street isn’t too bad if you’re renting a car.

The location is honestly the sweet spot – you’re walking distance to some excellent local restaurants that tourists never find, and there’s a little market nearby where you can grab fresh fruit and basics without paying tourist prices. Plus, when you do want to dive into the madness of Jemaa el-Fnaa or explore the souks, you can always retreat back to this quieter corner of the city. The hosts were responsive when I had questions, and check-in was straightforward – no drama, which is exactly what you want when you’re jet-lagged and just want to settle in.
