The name actually undersells it – I was expecting something stuffy and overly formal, but this place has this relaxed elegance that’s hard to find in Marrakech. It’s tucked away on Boulevard du Moyen-Orient in Agdal, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that feels more like where actual Marrakchis live rather than the tourist bubble of the medina. The street itself is tree-lined and quiet, especially in the evenings when you can hear the call to prayer echoing from different directions – there’s something really peaceful about it.

The apartment itself is spacious in a way that surprises you. I mean, most hotel rooms in Morocco tend to be on the smaller side, but here you’ve got room to actually spread out and live a little. The furnishings walk that fine line between traditional Moroccan touches and modern comfort – think beautiful zellige tiles in the bathroom but also a shower that actually has proper water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you’d think). The kitchen is fully equipped, which is great because the Agdal market is just a short walk away, and there’s nothing quite like making mint tea with fresh herbs you picked up that morning. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently too, which… well, anyone who’s spent time in Morocco knows that’s not always a given.

What really sets this place apart is the location – you’re about a 15-minute taxi ride from Jemaa el-Fnaa, but you’re also walking distance from some of the city’s best contemporary restaurants and cafes that most tourists never discover. There’s this little coffee shop called Café des Épices nearby (not the famous one in the medina, a different one) where locals go for their morning coffee, and the woman who runs it makes the best msemen I’ve had outside of someone’s home. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little details like having a proper iron available, or the way the concierge (who speaks perfect English and French) can get you into places that aren’t in guidebooks. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re renting a car, but honestly, you probably won’t need one from this location. The only thing I’d mention is that it can get a bit warm in the afternoons during summer months, but the AC handles it fine and the evenings cool down nicely with the mountain breeze.
