Three bedrooms that actually have space to move around in (not those cramped European hotel rooms where you’re practically sleeping on your suitcase), and the whole place has this lived-in elegance that feels more like staying at a wealthy friend’s place than a rental. The kitchen – and this is important if you’re planning to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the road – actually works. I’m talking real cooking space, not some sad hotplate situation. The locals shop at the small épiceries scattered throughout Gueliz, but having that big supermarket nearby is honestly a game-changer when you want familiar brands or need to stock up.

What really sold me on this area, though, is how it sits perfectly between two worlds. You’re maybe fifteen minutes by taxi from Jemaa el-Fnaa and all that tourist madness (which, let’s be real, you probably want to experience at least once), but you can also walk to Avenue Mohammed V for proper restaurants and cafés where you’ll hear more French and Arabic than English. The parking situation is actually manageable here – something you definitely can’t say about anywhere near the medina. And the noise level? Well, it’s a city, so there’s traffic, but nothing like the sensory overload of the old town. I actually slept through the night, which felt like a minor miracle after other Marrakech experiences. The building itself feels solid and well-maintained, not like some of those riads where you’re wondering if the plumbing is going to cooperate. Check-in was straightforward – no hunting through unmarked alleyways or calling someone’s cousin’s friend to let you in.
