You know what surprised me most about Appartement Elias? It’s tucked away on Rue Al Mouqaouma, which honestly sounds intimidating if you’re not familiar with Marrakech, but it’s actually this perfectly positioned side street that gives you the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to hear the distant hum of Jemaa el-Fnaa when the evening storytellers get going, but far enough away that you can actually sleep without earplugs.

The place feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel – which makes sense given the name, I suppose. The rooms have this lived-in quality that’s hard to fake, with traditional Moroccan touches that don’t feel like they were ordered from a catalog. I mean, the tilework in the bathroom alone had me taking photos, and I’m not usually that person. What really got me was the attention to practical details – proper bedside lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and surprisingly good water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think in Morocco). The air conditioning works well too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting during those scorching summer months when Marrakech turns into an oven.

The 7.9 rating feels about right, honestly – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury amenities, but it delivers exactly what you need without any unpleasant surprises. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, so when they recommend that little cafe around the corner on Avenue Mohammed V, they’re not just reading from a script. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that hovering-around-the-lobby-for-an-hour nonsense. And here’s something I didn’t expect – the building stays surprisingly quiet at night, even though you’re right in the thick of things. The walls are thick enough that you’re not subjected to every conversation in the hallway, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. If you’re planning to explore the medina on foot – and you should – this location works perfectly as a base camp. You can duck back during the midday heat, recharge, then head out for the evening chaos when the city really comes alive.

  absolument fantastiques cet appartement à Marrakech. Il était impeccablement propre, très confortable et la décoration marocaine nous a tout de suite plongés dans l'ambiance. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la localisation centrale qui nous a permis de rejoindre facilement la place Jemaa el-Fna et les principaux sites touristiques à pied, tout en étant dans un quartier calme le soir.
  La communication avec l'hôte a été excellente et très réactive dès la réservation. Son accueil chaleureux et ses précieux conseils nous ont permis de profiter au maximum de notre court séjour. Les équipements de l'appartement étaient parfaits pour nos besoins.
  Nous recommandons sans aucune hésitation cet appartement et y retournerons avec grand plaisir lors de notre prochaine visite à Marrakech

  The property is located at a very privileged area, only 15 mins walking from Marrakech train station which is very short distance by taxi to everywhere. The place had a lovely pool, was very big and bright and the kitchen had everything we needed.
  
  What could be improved: The flat next door is under a major construction so it was very noise from 9 to end of the day. But because we spent most of the time exploring the city during the day, it didn’t affect us very much.

  What could be improved: The location was awful. To far out from the city centre; 3.7km from Jemaa el Fnaa. The area was not nice, it’s a building zone, very dirty. The beds were extremely hard. The bathroom and kitchen were not clean.

  Very good location. Nice large apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Underground parking was available. Very well equipped kitchen. Shop just outside the apartment. Very good WIFI.
