And you know what? It’s actually perfect if you want to stay in the heart of modern Marrakech without dealing with the tourist chaos of the medina every single day. I mean, don’t get me wrong – the old city is incredible, but sometimes you need somewhere to decompress where you can actually find a decent cappuccino and reliable WiFi.

The apartment sits right in the Youssef Ben Tashfin neighborhood, which is sort of the sweet spot of Gueliz – close enough to walk to Avenue Mohammed V (that’s the main drag with all the shops and restaurants), but tucked away on a quieter residential street. The building itself is typical Marrakech modern – clean lines, that lovely ochre stone, and thankfully has a working elevator because hauling luggage up Moroccan stairs in the heat is nobody’s idea of fun. What really won me over was how genuinely equipped it is. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the medina walls, so you can dive into the souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa when you’re feeling adventurous, but retreat back to air conditioning and a quiet neighborhood when it all gets too intense. Plus, being in Gueliz means you’re surrounded by proper restaurants – I’m talking places where you can get amazing Moroccan food without the tourist markup, alongside French bistros and even a surprisingly good sushi place if you’re craving something completely different. The Carrefour is practically around the corner, which might not sound exciting but trust me, having a proper supermarket nearby makes longer stays so much easier. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods, but the neighborhood is generally pretty walkable, and taxis actually know where they’re going in Gueliz unlike some of the medina locations where you end up playing charades with drivers. The 8.7 rating makes total sense – it’s not flashy luxury, but it’s exactly what you want: comfortable, practical, and in a spot where you can actually live like a person rather than just survive as a tourist.

    What could be improved: Il y a pratiquement tout dans cet appartement. Cependant, je suggère au propriétaire de laisser au moins deux ou trois draps par chambre pour améliorer davantage le confort des clients.

    Proche du centre de Gueliz. Magasins et restaurants très proches. Proprio très réactif.

    What could be improved: Nous avons eu un problème de cheminée où la fumée d'en dessous sortait mais le propriétaire a très vite réglé le problème.
    Je rajouterai aussi des ustensiles tels que sèche cheveux, grille pain et passoire.
