The whole Gueliz area has this energy where you’re close enough to walk to the medina when you want that full sensory overload, but you can retreat to tree-lined streets and sidewalk cafés when you need to decompress.

The residence itself feels secure without being sterile – there’s usually someone at the front desk during reasonable hours, and the other residents seem to be a mix of long-term locals and travelers like us. Parking was easier than I expected (that’s always a gamble in Marrakech), and the neighborhood gets pretty quiet after evening prayer calls, which was perfect for getting the kids to sleep. I will say the street can get a bit busy during rush hour, but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you awake – just the usual city hum.
