It’s about a 15-minute taxi ride from the medina, which honestly works in your favor – close enough to dive into the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa whenever you want, but far enough that you can actually sleep at night without hearing scooters and call to prayer at 4 AM.

The apartment itself feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed second home than a typical hotel room. I mean, you’ve got a proper kitchen (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), decent-sized living areas, and – this was key for me – really solid air conditioning. The building’s got that modern Moroccan architecture thing going on, lots of earth tones and geometric patterns, but it doesn’t feel forced or theme-park-ish. What really sold me was the terrace space – most units have either a balcony or access to communal outdoor areas where you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families start showing up, but if you’re an early riser, you’ll basically have it to yourself.

Here’s what they don’t tell you in the booking photos: parking is actually covered and secure (huge plus if you’re renting a car), the WiFi is legitimately fast enough for video calls, and the kitchen comes stocked with basic stuff like olive oil and spices. The management company is pretty responsive too – I had an issue with the hot water on day two, and someone was there within an hour. The location puts you close to some decent restaurants that aren’t completely touristy; there’s this little place called Cafe Kech about a 10-minute walk away that does incredible tagines for like half what you’d pay in Gueliz. You’re also close to the newer shopping areas if you need to grab groceries or forgot to pack something important. Look, it’s not going to give you that authentic riad experience with the ornate tilework and traditional courtyard, but if you want space to spread out, modern amenities that actually work, and a base that feels like home while you explore Marrakech, this hits the mark. Just book early if you’re traveling during peak season – these apartments fill up fast, and for good reason.
