So I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for Appartement Privé au Vizir Center, I thought I was heading to some massive resort complex. But actually, this place is tucked away in the Palmeraie area, which is sort of Marrakech’s answer to Palm Springs if you squint a bit. You know what I mean – lots of palm groves, wider streets, and thankfully way less chaos than the medina.

The apartment itself sits in this quiet residential compound called Dar Caid Layadi, and getting there is actually pretty straightforward once your taxi driver figures out you’re not going to the famous Vizir resort (happened to me twice, so just be clear about that). What really struck me was how genuinely peaceful it felt – I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the call to prayer from nearby mosques, but there’s none of that constant scooter honking that drives you crazy in Gueliz. The building’s got this clean, modern Moroccan style without trying too hard, and parking was never an issue, which honestly made my rental car situation so much easier.

Inside, the space feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel setup. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – proper water pressure in the shower, reliable WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and a kitchen that’s actually equipped if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the road. The décor walks that fine line between authentic Moroccan touches and modern comfort without feeling like a theme park. Air conditioning works well too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those brutal July afternoons.

What I really loved was the location’s sweet spot factor – you’re about fifteen minutes from Jemaa el-Fnaa when traffic’s normal, but you can also easily explore the Palmeraie golf courses and some of the nicer restaurant terraces that tourists rarely find. There’s this little café called Café Palmeraie just a few minutes’ walk away where locals actually hang out, and the woman who runs it makes incredible msemen in the mornings. The neighborhood comes alive around sunset when families start their evening walks, but it quiets down pretty early, so you’ll sleep well.

Look, it’s not going to give you that full-immersion medina experience if that’s what you’re after, but honestly? Sometimes you want to come back to a place where you can think clearly and recharge. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s one of those stays where everything just works without drama, the host responds quickly to questions, and you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t ruined yet. Plus, if you’re planning day trips to the Atlas Mountains or Essaouira, being in this part of town means you’re not fighting through narrow medina streets to get to the main roads.

  Nous avons passé un super séjour ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement et avons apprécié la propreté du logement. L'endroit est idéal pour les familles cherchant un cadre calme et sécurisé, avec des piscines parfaitement adaptées aux enfants. L'appartement était spacieux, confortable et équipé.

  Location is isolated… you need a car or a taxi app to get around, but it’s actually what I wanted.
  Went to a water park one day.. very nice!
  
  What could be improved: Shame the restaurant was closed and some of the facilities had been closed since covid.
  But… it’s what you make it, and it was fine.
  Lovely pools, quiet, spacious.
  Download an app so you can get groceries delivered to the front security station ) damn.. I can’t remember what it’s called )
  Host and Mohammed were great for advice on how to get around.
  Check what days the in-house snack bar is closed!

  Séjour super ! Tout était parfait ! Mohamed trop trop gentille et surtout disponible si besoin! La résidence est canon , l’appartement était spacieux et pour les enfants c’était trop bien ! Déjeuner et la nourriture très bonne ! On est à proximité de tout ! Je recommande le logement à 1000% encore merci si je dois revenir sur Marrakech je reprendrais le logement avec grand plaisir.
