Appartement warda Overview

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Appartement Warda – it’s one of those places that surprised me in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book something online and cross your fingers it’s not a disaster? Well, this actually exceeded what I was expecting from the photos.

The location on Boulevard Allal Al Fassi is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Marrakech rather than just visiting it. I mean, you’re far enough from the medina chaos that you can actually sleep at night (trust me on this – I’ve made the mistake of staying right in the thick of Jemaa el-Fnaa before), but close enough that a petit taxi won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The residence itself sits in this quieter residential area where you’ll see actual families going about their daily lives, kids playing in the courtyard, that sort of thing. It’s refreshing, honestly.

What really got me was the attention to detail in the apartment itself. The owner – I’m assuming it’s Warda, though I never actually confirmed that – clearly knows what travelers need. The kitchen is properly stocked, not just the bare minimum you usually get. There’s this lovely traditional tiling throughout that feels authentic without being over-the-top touristy, and the beds are actually comfortable (I cannot stress enough how rare this is). The WiFi worked consistently, which might sound basic but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong. And here’s something I didn’t expect – the water pressure in the shower is fantastic. After a day of wandering around dusty souks, that hot shower hits differently.

The neighborhood itself has this lived-in quality that I love. There’s a little café down the street where the owner started recognizing me by day three, and a proper grocery store within walking distance – not just tourist shops selling overpriced water. You’ll hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque, which some people might find intrusive, but I found it oddly comforting, like the city’s heartbeat. Early mornings are particularly peaceful here, with just the sounds of people starting their day and the occasional motorbike puttering by.

Now, it’s not luxury in the Western sense – don’t expect a concierge or room service – but that’s sort of the point. This feels like staying in someone’s well-kept home rather than a sterile hotel room. The building’s entrance is a bit understated, so don’t expect grand marble lobbies, but once you’re inside, everything feels clean and thoughtfully arranged. I appreciated that the apartment had actual personality, with local artwork and furnishings that told a story.

The 8.5 rating makes complete sense to me. It’s not quite a 9 because there are tiny things – the AC could be quieter, and the building’s elevator is, well, let’s call it “vintage” – but these are minor quibbles. For the price point and the genuine local experience you get, this place delivers. You’ll wake up feeling like you’ve got a little slice of real Marrakech life, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to understand a place beyond its tourist facade.

    Everything

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Great location – N from United Kingdom – 30 April 2025 (9/10)

Location was excellent not far from anything
Masjid opposite not too busy very calm area

What could be improved: Everything was good

  • Very good price-value ratio, good and safe location, a bit further away from the city center. – Judit from Hungary – 29 January 2025 (8/10)

Spacious apartment, the area is safe and there was always a parking place available around. The kitchen is well-equipped, however more mugs and teaspoons would be useful.

What could be improved: Not easy to find the location, there was no house number or district given so the sat nav directed us to a different area (closer to the center) first. "A1" was also not clear what it means. There is an optic shop opposite the building so we used that address to the navigation.

  • Amazing stay – Mariam from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (10/10)

Everything was good about the apartment great location felt like home

What could be improved: Just needed hairdryer if they had it would be good

  • It has only bathroom, which is not enough for a group of 5-6 – Muhammad from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (8/10)

Host waited for me 6 hours, my flight was diverted to Agadir due to bad weather conditions, although they charged me £25 for this.

    What could be improved: Location

  • Spacious and comfortable – Arthur from Ireland – 12 July 2024 (9/10)

Very spacious and beautiful apartment. Well equipped kitchen. We liked the location- a bit outside of the centre, but still within a walking distance to medina and the Majorelle Gardens. Close to a shopping centre. Good transport connection with the centre. Nice host, even though she didn't speak English we managed to communicate ok.

What could be improved: Finding the property and getting in was a bit confusing- our taxi driver had to ring the host to specify the address, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment.

  • Spacious and comfortable for a family. – Nasira from United Kingdom – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

Very spacious and comfortable for a family or group. Excellent air conditioning in all rooms. Fabulous location if you want to stay away from the noise and bustle of city centre however easy access to centre via taxi as location on a main road. There is lift. Lots of cafeterias and decent shops on main road including an ATM and Western union points. I did not meet the owner but he was very quick to respond to any issues. We locked ourselves out by error and left the keys in the flat . Contacted him and problem resolved within the hour.I would book this place again.

What could be improved: Would have been useful to have a water kettle but easily resolved with the kitchen pans there. . A few more mugs for English tea drinkers..but lots of Morroccon glass cups available for Morroccon tea.

  • Superb – Aleksandras from Lithuania – 7 May 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: all good
