You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Résidence Caricia in Amerchich – honestly, the name made it sound like some generic apartment complex. But Appartement Zazat completely changed my perspective on what a Marrakech stay could be like. This isn’t your typical riad experience (which, don’t get me wrong, I love), but sometimes you want the space and privacy of a proper apartment without sacrificing that Moroccan charm.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Marrakech well. Amerchich sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the medina action – maybe a 10-minute taxi ride to Jemaa el-Fnaa – but far enough out that you can actually sleep at night without the constant hum of scooters and late-night street vendors. I mean, I love the energy of the old city, but after a few days of navigating those narrow souks, coming back to this quiet residential area felt like a genuine retreat. The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious, and whoever designed it actually gets what travelers need. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen (you’d be amazed how rare that is), decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this is key – really good air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. The décor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Moroccan touches without going overboard with the tourist-y stuff.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The check-in was smooth, the building feels secure (important for solo travelers), and there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to rent a car in Morocco. The 9-star rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style living with hotel-level service. Sure, it’s not going to give you that authentic medina experience where you’re hearing the call to prayer from your rooftop terrace, but sometimes – especially if you’re staying more than a few days or traveling with family – you need a proper home base. Plus, there are some excellent local restaurants within walking distance that most tourists never discover because they’re stuck in the medina bubble. If you’re looking for that middle ground between tourist central and authentic Moroccan living, Appartement Zazat nails it.

  Un gardien a l’entrée de la résidence qui surveille les entrées très serviable et gentil. une remise des clefs parfaitement organisée. Un accueil chaleureux bien que les propriétaires soient à l’étranger , ils étaient adorables ! Une communication français anglais marocain parfaite.
  Deux petits bacons, une jolie salle de bain, la wifi et une cuisine très bien équipée. L’appartement était clair , confortable et très propre.
  À disposition collées à la résidence une épicerie et une pharmacie ! Top 👍🏽
  En bref un super prix pour Marrakech et un accueil parfait , la sécurité est rassurante et l’appartement cosy .Chère Zaza merci 🤍🌸🫶🏽

  A very clean apartment, and the owners are wonderfully helpful, equipped with the smallest details. I liked it very much, and I spent enjoyable times in it, especially with the view overlooking a beautiful agricultural land at sunset. I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to relax in a clean and beautiful place.
