I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Au Cœur de la Palmeraie, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name literally means “in the heart of the palm grove,” and they’re not kidding around. This place sits right in the Palmeraie district, which is actually about 15 minutes outside the medina madness, tucked into what feels like a different world entirely. You know how Marrakech can be overwhelming with all the hustle and motorbike horns? Well, out here you’re surrounded by actual palm trees and this sort of peaceful vibe that makes you forget you’re still technically in the city.

The property itself is set up like a residential complex – I mean, the address literally says “Pavillon G2 App 8,” so you’re basically staying in what feels like a fancy apartment building. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. It’s not trying to be some massive resort, and the 4-star rating feels about right. The staff actually remembers your name (there aren’t hundreds of guests coming through), and there’s this lived-in quality that makes it feel more authentic than those cookie-cutter places near Jemaa el-Fnaa. The rooms have that modern Moroccan style without going overboard on the tadelakt and lanterns – you know what I mean, where sometimes it feels like you’re sleeping in a museum display.

What really sold me was the location, though. You’re close enough to hop into town when you want the full Marrakech experience, but far enough out that you can actually sleep at night without hearing scooters until 2 AM. The Palmeraie has this network of little roads that wind through actual working palm groves, and in the morning you can walk around and see people tending to their trees. There’s a golf course nearby if that’s your thing, and honestly, some of the best restaurants in Marrakech are out this way – locals will tell you the really good places aren’t in the medina anyway. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you consider that you’re getting a more residential, authentic experience rather than the typical tourist hotel setup. It’s not perfect – parking can be a bit confusing when you first arrive, and if you’re the type who wants to stumble back to your hotel after late-night mint tea sessions in the souks, you’ll need to factor in taxi rides. But if you want to experience Marrakech without feeling like you’re constantly performing the role of tourist, this spot gets it right.

  I had a wonderful experience staying at this apartment in Palmeraie , Marrakesh. Everything about it was amazing — the apartment itself, the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful view, and the lovely garden. It truly exceeded my expectations.

  Although the house needs a little more TLC, it’s like the photos. The terrace/garden area is very pretty. The swimming pool is very spacious and Hakim was absolutely excellent. I asked for more breakfast items and the very next day, they were there! The beds are very comfortable. The supermarket is a short walk away (in a very safe area). Hakim also set up a taxi pick up for us from the airport, which relieved a lot of stress!
  
  What could be improved: There is a problem with cockroaches. It’s clear that some sort of treatment is being done as the very big ones appear dead or dying but we had to invest in more bug spray as there wasn’t a day that there weren’t smaller ones in the kitchen or the bathroom. This was put a downer on the holiday.

  Location was excellent. Not too close to the centre, and close enough to get a quick taxi into the medina. The actual complex was great, very quiet and the pool was very big. Breakfast was fine, the fridge was stocked with eggs, oranges, etc. The freezer had bread. You had to make your own breakfast, and as the holiday went on we ran out of breakfast food and had to buy our own. Apartment was fairly clean and we had plenty of towels, including towels for the pool. The cleaner never visited the flat for the entire 9 days we stayed.
  
  What could be improved: Reception at the complex was a bit misleading, it was basically just a security gate. Fresh breakfast food should have been more frequent and the apartment could have been cleaned at least once, with fresh bed sheets.

  The place was in a decent location. It's probably 15 minutes drive away from the centre. It's very peaceful with nearby supermarkets. It has everything you can require in the property. Really beautiful garden and apartment and ideal for a family or group. The host was great at communicating with us and is extremely nice and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: So upon our arrival we found a number of cockroachs,some dead,some alive. The host re-assured us that it was due to the apartment being recently fumigated. We got rid of the roaches and didn't see them again after our first day. I believe the property could do with a slight upgrade and modernisation, possibly add a bidet in the bathroom

  Great location, an escape from the bustle of the Medina but close enough to all attractions. Hakim was incredibly hospitable and responded promptly to all our questions. The flat is extremely comfy with wonderful pool a short walk away. I would not hesitate to book again.
