BCK Art Riad Overview
You know what really caught me off guard about BCK Art Riad? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on Derb Lhajra, you’re hit with this incredible sense of calm – which is honestly pretty remarkable considering you’re literally steps away from the chaos of Bab Doukkala. I mean, the location is perfect if you actually want to experience the real medina without getting completely overwhelmed by the tourist crowds around Jemaa el-Fnaa.
The riad itself feels like someone’s elegant home that just happens to welcome guests, and I think that’s what sets it apart from some of the more sterile boutique places popping up everywhere. The art collection (hence the name, obviously) is curated really thoughtfully – not just random pieces thrown on walls, but stuff that actually complements the traditional architecture. The courtyard is where you’ll probably spend most of your downtime, especially in the evenings when the temperature drops and you can hear the call to prayer echoing off the surrounding buildings. Fair warning though – if you’re a super light sleeper, the early morning call might wake you up, but honestly, it becomes part of the experience after a day or two.
What I really appreciated was how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about finding a good hammam nearby, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps – they sent me to this local spot about a five-minute walk away where I paid a fraction of what I would’ve elsewhere. The breakfast situation is solid too, served up on the rooftop terrace where you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days. Getting there involves navigating those narrow medina streets, which can be tricky with luggage (I’d definitely recommend packing light), but the riad can arrange to have someone meet you at the main road if needed. The whole area comes alive at night – you’ll hear families chatting on nearby rooftops and smell tagines cooking, which beats any fancy restaurant ambiance if you ask me. It’s not luxury in the five-star hotel sense, but it’s authentic in a way that actually matters when you’re trying to connect with Marrakech beyond the surface level.

Reviews of BCK Art Riad
Beautiful property, amazing hospitable staff, great food and hammam, fantastic location! – Jennifer from United States – 13 June 2025 (10/10)
I stayed with a female friend and the experience for us was second to none. We were received at the airport via taxi arranged by the Riad (highly recommend if you don't speak French or Arabic). The property is stunning, felt safe, was in close proximity to everything. We walked about 15-20 minutes everywhere and felt totally safe. Don't talk to people who pretend on the street to say they know you from the Riad, they don't (unless you actually have seen and know them lol). Everyone at the property was kind, warm and welcoming. The food there is also amazing! The pastilla was delicious, breakfast was great, and everything is so easy on the eyes from the design to art all over. We had a hamman treatment that was blissful as well. Coming back to smiling staff and a beautiful property was a breath of fresh air after a long warm day of walking and touring Marrakech. We also booked two tours from the Riad and they were worth every penny. Our stay would've been much different had it not been for choosing this Riad because of the staff. It was a combination of the people mostly and the beautiful property. We will be forever grateful for our experience.

Well decorated, attractive and comfortable rooms. Restaurant attached. Great, friendly staff
What could be improved: The pool was in a very public area in front of the entrance and we would not have felt comfortable using it, but it was one of the main reasons we chose it.Was sick but very comfortable – Eric from United States – 17 May 2025 (10/10)
My room was so comfortable. I ended up being really sick and barely left my room. It was so comfortable. Almost nice to take a day off and sleep there

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Halim in particular was a perfect combination of helpful but not overbearing. Happy to accommodate alternative breakfast times and help to book transport and excursions.
Location was excellent, short walk to the Medina but close to transport links. The area felt very safe and easy to navigate.Exceptional – Eleni from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (10/10)
We had a wonderful time staying at BCK Art Riad. Everyone was very friendly, the terrace was wonderful (there was even live music as we ate), and the place smelled amazing. Our favourite part of our stay was that we were surrounded by art! A wonder for the senses.
What could be improved: Nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!A fabulous place to escape to – Mark from United Kingdom – 28 April 2025 (10/10)
On first arrival in Marrakech at night it was a bit daunting as we had never been there before, but we soon adjusted the the culture as the people we all so warm and friendly. In particular, the Riad staff couldn't do enough for us and were super helpful with all our queries and organised everything for us
What could be improved: We cannot think of anything that we did not like about the property as it was located inside the medina but close enough to the gates to organise transport for the trips out of town
The city itself is ripe for exploring and has a huge range of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgetsBeautiful Unique Riad, Great Service – Leslie from United States – 26 April 2025 (10/10)
This riad is so comfortable, cute and funky in a classy way. The staff was very welcoming with a high level of service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is amazing, unique art at every turn. We enjoyed unique offering from the dinner menu and breakfast was also good. Parking area is a short distance away. It was full each time we tried but they allowed our driver to park and unload. A member of the staff met us and walked us to the riad through the bustling pedestrian street.
I loved every minute of it, and I felt very safe and loved the artwork – Victoria from United Kingdom – 23 April 2025 (10/10)
