Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Résidence Babylone 2 on Boulevard Mohamed VI – I mean, apartment rentals can be hit or miss, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself sits right in the heart of Hivernage, which if you’ve never been to Marrakech, is sort of like the city’s modern district where you get palm-lined streets and way less chaos than the medina. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, but far enough away that you won’t hear the snake charmers at 6 AM.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental – there’s this lovely balcony where I ended up having my morning coffee every single day, looking out over the neighborhood while listening to the call to prayer echo across the city. The pool area is shared with other residents, but it never felt crowded when I was there in March. Actually, most afternoons I had it pretty much to myself, which was perfect after walking around the souks all morning. The whole setup reminded me of those boutique hotels you see in design magazines, except you get way more space and a proper kitchen. Speaking of which, the kitchen’s actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the street – though honestly, with all the incredible food nearby, I barely used it except for making coffee.

What really sold me on this place was the location without feeling touristy, if that makes sense. You’re close enough to walk to Teatro and Comptoir Darna for dinner (both worth it, by the way), but you’re also near enough to the Palmeraie golf courses if that’s your thing. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s those little details like having reliable wifi, hot water that actually stays hot, and air conditioning that works properly. Plus, the whole check-in process was smooth, which anyone who’s traveled in Morocco knows can sometimes be… well, let’s just say it’s not always straightforward. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since you get that four-star comfort level without the four-star hotel crowds. Just keep in mind that while Hivernage is quieter than the medina, you’ll still hear some street noise in the evenings – but that’s just Marrakech being Marrakech.
