Rue Hassania itself is this quiet residential street, and I mean really quiet. No scooters honking at 6 AM, no vendor calls echoing off the walls. When I opened the windows in the morning, all I heard were birds and maybe some distant café chatter. The apartment sits right in the heart of the new city, so you’re literally a five-minute walk from Avenue Mohammed V where all the good restaurants are – I must have tried six different tagine places that week and never had to take a taxi.

What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was set up. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos. The kitchen had proper coffee (not just Nescafé packets), the shower had actual water pressure, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – the wifi worked everywhere, even in the bathroom. I’ve stayed in fancy riads where you had to sit in one specific corner to get a signal. The whole place feels like someone’s gorgeous home that they’re letting you borrow, not some sterile hotel room. There’s art on the walls that’s actually interesting, books in French and English, even a few local guidebooks with handwritten notes in the margins.

The building itself is one of those beautiful French colonial ones – you know, the cream-colored facades with the wrought-iron balconies that make Gueliz so photogenic. My apartment was on the second floor, and honestly, the morning light streaming through those tall windows was something else. I found myself having coffee on the little balcony every morning, watching the neighborhood wake up. There’s a boulangerie right around the corner where locals line up for fresh bread, and this tiny épicerie next door where the owner started recognizing me after day two.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no awkward key-exchange meetings in random café parking lots like some places make you do. The host met me at the building, showed me around properly, and left me with his actual phone number, not some booking platform chat thing. When I had a question about the best hammam nearby, he texted back in like ten minutes with specific recommendations and even rough prices.

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Marrakech – from budget riads in the medina to those all-inclusive resorts outside the city. This apartment hits this perfect middle ground where you feel like you’re living in Marrakech, not just visiting it. The 9-star rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, it’s just trying to be really, really good at what it does.

  Ładny apartament z dwoma balkonami, roletami przeciw włamaniowymi.czysty przestronny w każdym pokoju klimatyzacja i telewizor z netfliksem. Internet działał bardzo dobrze. Pralka lodówka piekarnik wszystko sprawne i właściwie nowe, Duże wygodne łózka, duża łazienka.

  What could be improved: Okna się nie zamykały w żadnym z pokoi. W kuchni brak przypraw, była tylko sól, Brak Noża do krojenia był tylko taki mały nożyk do warzyw. Dostaliśmy do ekspresu dwie kapsułki na tydzień pobytu. W łazience przydałaby się półka pod prysznicem, oraz kilka wieszaków na ścianach, nie ma też żadnej półki na kosmetyki po za malutką pod umywalką. Miejsce jest trzeba tylko cos tam powiesić lub postwaić..
