The name makes it sound like some corporate chain property, but honestly, this feels more like staying in a really well-appointed local apartment that someone actually cares about. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Gueliz on Avenue Mohammed V – and if you know Marrakech at all, you’ll appreciate being in the newer part of town where the streets make sense and you can actually find decent coffee that isn’t tourist-priced.

The 2BR setup is legit spacious, which is saying something for Morocco where hotel rooms can feel pretty cramped. What I really liked was how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with just enough local character that you don’t feel like you’re in generic international hotel limbo. The AC actually works (trust me, this matters in summer), and there’s this subtle attention to detail – like proper blackout curtains and bathroom fixtures that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The kitchen area is functional too, though honestly, with all the incredible food options within walking distance, I barely used it except for morning coffee.

Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk from the medina entrance at Bab Nkob, but here’s the thing – you get the best of both worlds. During the day, you can dive into the chaos of the souks, then retreat to Gueliz where there’s actually sidewalks and you won’t get lost trying to find your way back. The Carré Eden shopping center is practically around the corner if you need familiar brands or just want to escape the intensity for a bit. And the taxi drivers actually know where Avenue Mohammed V is, which sounds obvious but… well, you’ll understand once you’re there.

What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe in the evenings. Gueliz comes alive after dark in this really authentic way – locals out for dinner, families strolling, cafés buzzing with conversation in Arabic and French. It’s not the tourist bubble, but it’s not intimidating either. You’ll hear the call to prayer from nearby mosques, but it’s not overwhelming like it can be deep in the medina. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect (the wifi can be spotty, and street noise picks up on weekends), but it delivers exactly what you hope for without any major disappointments. Actually, my only real complaint is that checkout felt too early when I just wanted to linger on the little balcony with mint tea, watching the city wake up.
