Charming Marrakech Apartement Overview
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you step off Rue Zellaqa – which, honestly, isn’t the prettiest street in Marrakech – you’re suddenly in this completely different world. The Charming Marrakech Apartement (yeah, they spell it the French way) sits tucked away from the main tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to hear the evening call to prayer echoing from the nearby mosques. It’s maybe a 10-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa, but far enough that you won’t get woken up by the drum circles at midnight.
The apartment itself actually feels like someone’s home, not a sterile hotel room. I mean, there are little touches everywhere – handwoven rugs that look genuinely Berber, not the machine-made stuff you see in tourist shops, and the bathroom tiles have this beautiful zellige work that catches the light just right in the morning. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped too, which matters if you want to grab fresh oranges from the souk and make juice instead of paying tourist prices for everything. The bed was comfortable enough, though the pillows were a bit soft for my taste – but that’s pretty standard for Morocco, honestly. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re still in the medina area.
The owner (or manager, I’m not sure which) was incredibly helpful with directions, and here’s something most places don’t tell you – they actually know the neighborhood well enough to recommend the little café around the corner where locals go for morning coffee. It’s called Café des Épices, and their mint tea is ridiculously good. The check-in was smooth, no weird waiting around or confusion about keys. One small thing though – the WiFi can be spotty in the evening when everyone’s online, but it’s fine for checking maps and staying in touch. The location really is the star here; you’re walking distance from the Bahia Palace and the Jewish Quarter, but you can also easily catch a taxi to the newer parts of the city if you want to hit up the rooftop bars in Gueliz. During the day, the apartment stays surprisingly cool thanks to those thick walls, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting in summer when Marrakech turns into an oven. For the price point and the authentic feel, it’s honestly a solid choice – especially if you want to experience living in the medina without dealing with the noise and crowds of the main tourist areas.

Reviews of Charming Marrakech Apartement
A nice affordable place – Khizar from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (8/10)
Friendly and helpful host.. 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main attractions, 2nd floor with lift, 2 bathrooms, tv wifi, fridge, oven, gas cooker, washing machine, iron and much more. A corner shop just 2 minutes walk from the property. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: Our bed sheets or towels were not changed nor our apartment was cleaned during the stay but it's not a big deal for us as most of us don't change our bed sheet or towels everyday. Gas cooker had some issues also some of the wall sockets were not working I informed everything to the host. No toiletries except hand washing soap or a roll of toilet paper.
Booking.com never told me clearly about paying 45 euros city tax to the property owner. I thought I have paid everything but upon arrival the host told me about it and when I checked my email it was written at the bottom of the email.Pretty good spacious apartment – Catriona from United Kingdom – 28 November 2024 (7/10)
The two bathrooms were great and access to the internet and on the TV too was great. The balcony was lovely to sit on every morning.
The space was lovely and good value for money and those black out blinds were incredible.
What could be improved: They did have air conditioning but it was incredibly loud unfortunately.
Sadly some of the power outlets by the beds weren't working but there were plenty around. The internet connection didn't reach the far room, but thats only a small peeve.
And we did struggle to get the shower to much hotter than slightly warm.
But these are just small issues that could be easily rectified.Clean modern apartment in good location – Osman from United Kingdom – 13 November 2024 (8/10)
Good location short can ride to the main bazaar areas. Apartment has good facilities and was nice and clean. Helpful staff, for the price was good value for money
What could be improved: Gap in wall between main WC and en suite WC,Enjoyable and close to tours – Reg from Canada – 6 November 2024 (9/10)
The owner was very helpful and was accessible at all times
What could be improved: All was goodGreat location, good and clean apartment – Hanish from Sweden – 24 October 2024 (8/10)
Location is good with lot of restaurants around. Apartment is also very clean and well maintained
What could be improved: Would be great if there are some basic things available. Toiletries, salt, oil etcVery good – Angelos from Greece – 30 September 2024 (8/10)
Big appartment within a walking distance from the medina. Comfortable beds.
What could be improved: It was quite hard to locate since the title in the booking site didn't correspond with the sign in the building. Also we found a cockroach alive in the bathroom.finally the pool was dirty.Overall good. We would use again. – Ian from France – 4 September 2024 (8/10)
Location was good.
Air con was invaluable.
Host was very helpful.
What could be improved: One of us couldn't get wifi.
Toiletries only enough for first night.Superb – Ishaak from United Kingdom – 30 August 2024 (9/10)
Lovely clean apartment, air conditioning and the swimming pool were essential for escaping Marrakech heat in summer. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Close to centre of Gueliz, plenty of options to eat and shop. Walking distance to jemma el fina and attractions.
What could be improved: Nothing, very relaxing stay.Great apartment – Deirdre from Ireland – 18 July 2023 (9/10)
Lovely apartment, short walk to restaurants, supermarket. Medina 20 mins on foot, loads of taxis nearby. Lovely little pool to cool down in the heat. All very friendly
What could be improved: NothingGive it a go – Ammarah from United Kingdom – 18 July 2022 (8/10)
The property was clean and spacious. equipped with a smart TV.
What could be improved: The two bathrooms were joined and every sound could be heard from the other bathroom, one of which was an en-suite so it was disturbing through the night. There was no toilet roll or hand soap. This should have been checked prior to arrival. The kettle didn’t work at all. Some of the sockets didn’t work for our mobile chargers. The WiFi was intermittent. The top shower in the en-suite was broken so could only use the handheld shower. There was no mention that the city tax had to be paid in cash which was an inconvenience.
