First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Chez Maya, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place tucked away in the Prestigia City Golf development. The villa sits quietly in the Morjane quarter, and you know what struck me immediately? How peaceful it felt compared to the bustling medina I’d left behind. This isn’t your typical riad experience, but that’s actually what makes it special. The property has this residential feel that makes you forget you’re staying at a guesthouse rather than visiting friends.

Location & Neighborhood

The Prestigia area is sort of Marrakech‘s answer to modern living — it’s about 20 minutes from the old city, which means you get the best of both worlds. I mean, you can easily reach Jemaa el-Fnaa when you want that authentic Marrakech energy, but then retreat to this quiet golf community when you need to decompress. The fact that couples rate this place so highly (and I can see why) probably has a lot to do with this balance. There’s something romantic about having your own little villa space while still being connected to everything Marrakech offers.

The Villa Experience

Chez Maya feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed home than a traditional hotel. The villa setup gives you privacy that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city — you’re not sharing hallways or bumping into other guests constantly. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail in the common areas and the way the space flows naturally. The game room is a nice touch, especially if you’re traveling with friends or need a break from sightseeing. And honestly, having free parking right on site is such a relief if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the Atlas Mountains or coastal areas.

Activities & Amenities

The tennis court caught me off guard — in a good way. It’s not something you expect to find at most Marrakech accommodations, but it fits perfectly with the residential vibe of the area. The golf course within two miles is actually part of what makes this location work so well; even if you’re not a golfer, the manicured surroundings create this serene atmosphere that’s pretty addictive. I found myself just enjoying the quiet mornings before heading into the city for the day’s adventures. The whole setup encourages you to slow down a bit, which can be exactly what you need after navigating Marrakech’s more intense neighborhoods.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.4 location rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. Chez Maya offers something unique — it’s close enough to reach Marrakech’s main attractions without dealing with the constant noise and activity. Couples especially seem to appreciate having their own space to reconnect while still being part of the Marrakech experience. The combination of modern comfort, recreational activities, and that residential privacy creates a different kind of Moroccan getaway. If you’re looking for an authentic riad experience, this probably isn’t your place — but if you want comfort, quiet, and easy access to both golf and the medina, it’s actually pretty perfect.

  The property was clean and comfortable. The location was close to the main square. The host of the villa Hind, was very kind, understanding and a great person. Unfortunately we couldn't meet her but she was very responsive in replying to our queries. Overall she gave us early check-in and late check out without charging us a penny. We will definitely recommend this place for those who want a comfortable stay and good host to listen to your queries.

  It was such a superb experience staying in Chez Maya it felt like a home from home without all the hard work!
  The villa is beautifully and tastefully decorated and had 4 zones to relax in.
  Bedrooms were very comfortable with ample storage and sockets. There were TV in all the bedrooms and the rooms all had working ac.
  
  The two bathrooms were huge with walkin shower and double vanity sinks..They were kept sparkling clean by the made Malika who really is a kind and hard working lady.
  
  I loved the atrium style hall, and the garden was well kept and luscoius green lawn (real not fake), and the pool was so nice, especially in the evening when it was lit up
  Hind has an eye for detail, and the artwork and decor is very tasteful.
  I want to say a special thanks to Hind who attended to my every demand. She never made me feel like I couldn't ask her anything. Before I arrived, I asked her to buy some groceries and toiletries and even icecream which was all ready for us when I arrived so I didn't need to go running to the shops.
  I asked for a late check out and early check-in, and she accommodated us without fuss.its a shame I never got to meet her. I would have liked to thank her personally.
  But last and not least I'd like to say Malika is the icing on the cake she's a wonderful soul and makes the best tagine and Couscous we have ever eaten. We aksed her to cook lunch for us for extra payment and I'm telling you it's the best food we ate throughout our stay and we went to many 5 stars !
  
  One thing I must say is transport was a bit difficult as the location is within a golf club and remote from public places. But we downloaded an app called indrive which gave us cheap fares and good taxis

  Beautiful villa was clean and well looked after. Had 24/7 security which made us feel very comfortable.

  We had a fabulous stay at Maya's and she went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The house is huge, good quality bathrooms, everything very well kept and clean, and the place has everything you need. The pool was great fun for the kids.
  Maya is very responsive and was very flexible when we had to move our stay due to sickness.
  Airport pickup was organized and when we arrived there was a bowl of fruit. Every morning someone came to prepare us a delicious breakfast and cleaned the rooms while we were eating.
  When we left we forgot a passport and Maya was so kind to organize an expedited mailing to Agadir.
  We are deeply grateful for the level of service provided and would recommend the place to anyone traveling to Marrakech.
  Location is quiet, safe and convenient to get downtown.

  Lovely villa in a good area and the owner Hind was very friendly and guided us on what to do and what not to do she even helped us with grocery shopping and delivered to home
  Mallika was doing cooking and cleaning during our stay for a decent pay and her cleaning was to a great standard . The villa was always clean when we came back after the tours.She was also recommended by HIND the owner.

  What could be improved: There is nothing much I didn’t like – only thing I would comment for people who stay is- that no shops/ restaurants in walkable distance so will have to depend on taxi – but via car they are all 5-10 mins drive.   One of the joys of staying in Marrakech was how wonderful the accommodation was. Firstly, we had a warm welcome from our host Hind, who was able to quickly advise and guide us in areas such as taxis, restaurants and beauty parlours! The accommodation was clean and spacious – perfect to relax in. And we were blessed with Malika who came every day to cook breakfast and clean. The whole experience was simple and relaxing from start to finish.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was excellent. The only minor point was the last day was a little awkward as we were told we could stay in the house after check out since our taxi to the airport was arriving late afternoon, but due to a last minute booking, another family arrived. It made for a strange and awkward last few hours in the villa.
