You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually in a proper residential building – not some tourist-heavy zone – but you’re literally three minutes from all the Gueliz action. I mean, when they say three minutes, they’re not exaggerating. I timed it because, well, I’m that kind of person.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish cousin decided to rent out their spare place. It’s got that modern Moroccan thing going on without being too… you know, touristy about it. The pool situation is honestly pretty sweet – it’s shared with the residence, but I never found it crowded. Maybe because most tourists don’t even know this building exists? The locals seem to use it in the early evenings, which actually made it feel more authentic. There’s something nice about hearing conversations in Arabic and French while you’re floating around after a day of wandering the medina.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Gueliz can be pretty buzzy – especially around Avenue Mohammed V – but this residential pocket stays peaceful. The building’s got that solid construction you don’t always find in vacation rentals, so you’re not dealing with paper-thin walls or sketchy plumbing. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that “meet me at the café down the street” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals.

The location thing is actually brilliant once you figure it out. You’re close enough to walk to all the good restaurants on Rue de la Liberté (honestly, some of the best food in Marrakech happens over there), but you can also grab a petit taxi to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes when you want the full medina experience. There’s a decent grocery store – Marjane – maybe a seven-minute walk away, which sounds boring but trust me, you’ll appreciate it when you want to grab water bottles without paying tourist prices.

I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and the temperature was perfect for actually using the pool. Can’t speak to summer – I imagine it’d be pretty intense – but the apartment’s got solid AC if you’re brave enough to visit then. The 9.5 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury in the traditional sense, but it nails what most people actually want: clean, comfortable, well-located, and reasonably priced. Plus there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels like a discovery rather than just another hotel everyone’s heard of.

    Appartement bien équipé, agréable, on se sent comme à la maison… bien sécurisé, tout y est à disposition, serviettes, couvertures, savon, liquide vaisselle, lessive, machine à laver etc … Mr EL ALOUI était toujours disponible en cas de besoin , très réactif et bienveillant… merci encore , c’était un agréable séjour

    What could be improved: Il manque peut-être autour café, restaurant, épicerie ou hammam mais je pense que ça ne saurait tardé car nous avons bien vu que c’était une zone en construction… c’est un agréable endroit pour être un peu en dehors du centre-ville, Gueliz est à 5 min en voiture
