You know what struck me first about Chimera Apartments & Suites? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s this fascinating mix of traditional Moroccan architecture with genuinely modern comfort, which honestly isn’t something you find everywhere in Marrakech. The place sits on Rue Assaqia Al Hamra, and if you’re familiar with the city at all, you’ll know this puts you in a sweet spot where you can walk to the medina without being right in the chaos of it all.

I mean, the 9.5 rating isn’t just inflated review scores – this place really delivers on the details that matter. The suites are spacious (and I’m talking actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with these beautiful tiled floors that stay cool even when it’s blazing outside. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, so when they suggest that little café around the corner or tell you which entrance to the souks is less crowded in the morning, they’re not just reading from a script. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – no weird hidden fees or confusing key card systems that never work. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re still close enough to hear the evening call to prayer from nearby mosques, which honestly adds to the whole experience rather than disrupting it.

The apartment-style setup is perfect if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with family – there’s actual kitchen space where you can store those amazing olives and bread you’ll inevitably buy at the markets. The bathrooms are modern without feeling sterile, and the water pressure is consistently good (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re covered in dust from exploring the medina all day). What really sets Chimera apart though is this relaxed, residential vibe – it doesn’t feel like a hotel trying too hard to be authentically Moroccan, it just… is. The rooftop terrace gives you those Atlas Mountain views everyone talks about, but without the crowds you’d get at the bigger hotels. If you’re planning to visit during peak season, definitely book ahead because places like this that actually get it right tend to fill up fast.

  Constant and quick contact with the manager of the property. Never felt unease about arrival or my stay. Makes you feel very welcome. Lots of information about the area and things to see. App recommendations. Pool was clean and you have your own sun lounger. No question a problem.

  We very much enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by Aziz who managed the property and is an absolute star. He was kind and polite. Gave us fantastic recommendations and was always available if needed. The apartment itself is absolutely fantastic, especially for a small family. You get a good size number bed with ensuite. The main living area is spacious. The kitchenette is well provisioned and we had a small bed suitable for our tall 10-year-old boy. The property also has a small balcony and good facilities such as a washing machine and kitchen hob. The pool area looked good, however it was a little bit too chilly on the days we were there to use it.
  The apartments are a 10-minute walk from some excellent local restaurants
  
  What could be improved: The biggest issue with this property is the location. Although it is a 20-minute walk from one of the main shopping areas in the new part of the city, getting a taxi into the Medina was our biggest challenge. The recommended apps do not often lead to getting a taxi. We were lucky there was often a taxi outside servicing the nearby hotel. Once we find a good taxi driver they were happy to come for us the next day also. The road around the apartments are somewhat rustic, if I ever want you walk past these, you are just by one of the main roads into the city.

  Our host Aziz could not have been more hospital and welcoming. The apartment itself was well decorated, modern and very clean with all the necessary utilities for an enjoyable stay. Aziz also provided us with very helpful recommendations in the area. Could not recommend more.

  Due to our delay we arrived around 02.00 AM; our host Aziz was so friendly to wait for us and let us in. He also had some good recommendations for restaurants, breakfast locations etc. He always responded vey quickly in case of any questions.
  The apartment was amazing; spacious and big enough for our family with two daughters. The decorations of all rooms was fantastic and gave us a feeling of coming home after a visit on the hectic Medina of Marrakech.
  
  What could be improved: Minor detail: maybe the frequency of towel change. But I think if we asked for more it wasn't a problem.

  Beautiful apartment with its characteristic furniture. Bed was comfy, nice to have a bath/jacuzzi. We loved the big pool, and the place was near the city center. Last but not least the place is very quiet, no noise from outside or neighbors.
