The apartment itself is… well, cozy is definitely the right word here. The owner clearly designed this with families in mind – there’s actually space to spread out your stuff without tripping over suitcases, and the kitchen is properly equipped if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the street instead of eating tagine every single meal (not that there’s anything wrong with tagine, but you get it). The decor walks that fine line between traditional Moroccan touches and modern comfort – I mean, the bathroom actually has decent water pressure, which honestly surprised me. The living area gets great afternoon light, and there’s this little balcony where you can sit with mint tea and watch the street life below.

What really sold me on this place though is the location. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from the train station, which is clutch if you’re doing day trips to Casablanca or Rabat. But more importantly, you’re in the heart of Gueliz where the good restaurants are – not the tourist ones, the places where you’ll see Moroccan families eating on weekends. There’s this little café around the corner that does incredible msemen in the mornings, and the local hammam is just a few blocks away if you want the real deal experience. The noise level is actually pretty reasonable too – busy during the day with that typical Marrakech energy, but it settles down by evening. Street parking can be a bit of a game, but the owner gave me some insider tips on where to look that actually worked.

The host runs a tight ship – check-in was smooth, everything was clean, and they’re the type who’ll actually answer your WhatsApp messages when you can’t figure out how to work the AC remote at 2am. I appreciated that they didn’t hover but were genuinely helpful when I needed directions to find decent hiking gear before heading to the Atlas Mountains. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what it promises to be, and sometimes that’s more valuable than fancy amenities you’ll never use. If you’re traveling with kids or just want a home base that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, this works really well.

  Prima keuken, beneden 1 slaapkamer en boven twee met ook nog ruimte met bankstel als soort 2e woonkamer, deze had wel een raam met beetje uitzicht.

  We stayed in the apartment for 2 nights, and the location and living conditions were suitable. The beds were quite comfortable, and all the air conditioners were working. The apartment is on the ground floor, but we considered this an advantage as there was no city noise. There are some minor issues that need fixing, but they do not significantly affect the overall rating. Parking garage.
