Dar Christine Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow alleys of Marrakech‘s medina to find Dar Christine feels like you’re being let in on a secret. The riad sits tucked away on a quiet touala — honestly, I almost walked past it twice before spotting the discreet entrance. Once you step inside though, you immediately understand why this place has such a devoted following. The traditional courtyard opens up before you with that classic Moroccan architecture you’ve probably seen in photos, but experiencing it in person hits differently.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? It’s right in the heart of the medina but somehow manages to feel peaceful. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square — close enough that you can pop over for dinner or to watch the evening chaos unfold, but far enough that you won’t hear the drums and street performers all night. The location score of 9.0 makes total sense when you realize you can explore the souks on foot, duck into local hammams, and still retreat to this quiet corner when the medina gets overwhelming (which it will).
The Rooms & Atmosphere
The rooms at Dar Christine have that authentic riad feel without being overly precious about it. Traditional tadelakt walls, carved wooden details, and those gorgeous Moroccan tiles — but everything feels lived-in rather than museum-like. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep the historical character while making sure modern travelers are comfortable. The courtyard becomes the heart of the place, especially in the evenings when the temperature drops and you can actually sit outside without melting.
Practical Perks
Here’s something you don’t always find in medina riads — free parking on site. Trust me, if you’re driving in Morocco, this is huge. Navigating Marrakech’s streets is an adventure in itself, so knowing you have a secure spot to leave your car takes away a major headache. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and they’re the kind of people who’ll give you actual useful directions rather than just pointing vaguely toward the souks.
Why Couples Love It
There’s definitely something romantic about this place that couples pick up on immediately. Maybe it’s the intimate scale — Dar Christine isn’t one of those sprawling resort-style riads where you feel lost in the crowd. The rooftop terrace gives you those postcard views over the medina’s rooftops, and honestly, watching the sunset from up there while the call to prayer echoes across the city is pretty unforgettable. The whole setup just feels designed for two people who want to experience authentic Marrakech without sacrificing comfort or privacy. You’re close enough to dive into the medina’s energy during the day, but you’ve got this peaceful retreat to come back to when you need to recharge.
To book hotel in Marrakech for the Marrakech Popular Arts Festival, travelers favor riad rooftops overlooking drummers and dancers.

Reviews of Dar Christine
Buona posizione, tante cose da migliorare – Salvatore from Italy – 3 May 2025 (6/10)
Ottima posizione, proprietaria persona gentilissima
What could be improved: Il bagno aveva un guasto non segnalato in precedenza. Il terrazzo è molto polveroso, in generale la casa non era pulitissima.Very good – Christiane from Germany – 30 October 2024 (8/10)
Das Haus war sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Terrasse hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen.Es liegt sehr zentral in der Medinay
What could be improved: Die Straße ist sehr laut, leider auch nachts.Superb – Atika from France – 5 May 2024 (9/10)
Appartement très agréable – Lionel from France – 4 January 2024 (9/10)
Merci.
