Dar Rhizlane, Palais Table d’hôtes & SPA Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of riads in Marrakech, but Dar Rhizlane is honestly in a league of its own. It’s tucked away on Avenue Jnane El Harti in Hivernage – which, if you’re not familiar with the area, is basically the newer part of town where you get that authentic Moroccan vibe without the absolute chaos of the medina. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the medina’s incredible, but sometimes you just want to walk back to your hotel without navigating a maze of donkeys and carpet sellers, you know?

The moment you step through those heavy wooden doors, it’s like someone hit the mute button on the city. The courtyard is absolutely stunning – we’re talking hand-carved stucco work that probably took months to complete, and this gorgeous fountain that creates just enough ambient sound to make you forget you’re in the middle of a bustling city. The rooms are spacious (actually spacious, not “cozy” which usually means tiny), and the attention to detail is pretty remarkable. The bathrooms have these beautiful tadelakt finishes that feel smooth as silk, and honestly, the bed linens are some of the softest I’ve encountered anywhere. What really sets this place apart though is the table d’hôtes dining – it’s not just a hotel restaurant, it’s more like being invited to dinner at someone’s incredibly elegant home. The chef sources everything locally, and you’ll find yourself eating dishes you’ve never heard of but will definitely be craving months later.

The spa deserves its own mention because – well, it’s basically a little slice of heaven. They do this traditional hammam experience that’s nothing like the tourist traps you’ll find elsewhere. The staff actually knows what they’re doing, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve been reborn. Location-wise, you’re about a 10-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa if you want the full medina experience, but you’re also close to the Gueliz district where the modern restaurants and bars are. Parking isn’t really an issue here (which is saying something for Marrakech), and the staff will sort out your airport transfers without any of that haggling nonsense. The only minor thing I’d mention is that it’s a smaller property – maybe 15 rooms total – so book early, especially during the cooler months when everyone wants to escape to Morocco. But honestly, that intimate size is part of what makes it special. You’re not just another tourist; you’re a guest.

Reviews of Dar Rhizlane, Palais Table d’hôtes & SPA

  • It has a lovely, authentic Moroccan style, is cozy and always has pleasant smells waiting for you. – Attila from Hungary – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

The accommodation was a very pleasant surprise for us. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with its own charm and elegance. It seems like the best choice. The location is excellent. All important attractions are within 2-3 km. Even the airport is only 15 minutes away. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a huge balcony, and the hotel staff is extremely friendly and polite. They speak excellent English and French.

What could be improved: It wasn't like that, we were extremely satisfied with everything.

  • The most beautiful hotel we’ve been! Amazing hospitality and wonderful staff, Dar Rhizlane is the place for the real Mor – Ana from United Kingdom – 5 July 2025 (10/10)

Dar Rhizlane was probably the most beautiful hotel I have been. The attention to detail and typical Moroccan architecture of the building allowed me to have the truly Moroccan experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and we felt completely at home. The swimming pool area was absolutely beautiful and the bedroom even more! The engraving details in the bathroom of the room were astonishing!

What could be improved: We enjoyed every single thing of this hotel so nothing to put here.

  • Superb – Coco from United States – 4 July 2025 (9/10)

Gorgeous property and luxurious room. Felt very 5-star.

What could be improved: The food varied as did the service. Either the staff was ultra helpful or not at all.

  • Wonderful – Julian from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

The hotel building is an architectural gem with beautiful gardens and greenery. The pool area is incredibly pleasant even at 45 degrees temperature and the staff make sure that sun beds and towels are always fresh. The beds are comfortable and the living space, decoration and amenities in the room made it a very relaxing stay. Al fresco dinner was great with beautiful music being played and the hotel kindly gave us complimentary drinks as it was our wedding anniversary. Despite not being big, the hotel invites you to stay and spend time in. It somehow feels like you're not in the city. We would definitely come back to stay.

What could be improved: Though beautiful, the bathroom could do with a bit of sprucing up: new taps, working drain plugs. A newer toilet would add points to the room too.
The hotel could strive to make it easier for guests to move around Marrakech without having to brave the constant bargaining and arguing with taxi drivers. Accessibility to reasonably priced transport arrangements in well maintained air-conditioned cars would make the stay more pleasant.
The hotel could be a bit more accommodating to checking out guests with late flights (in providing facilities to wash and change clothes before a flight).

  • Amazing home away from home – Carolina from Portugal – 1 July 2025 (9/10)

    Service at breakfast and bar

What could be improved: Room to dark

  • A beautiful and very relaxing atmosphere! – Neil from United Kingdom – 1 July 2025 (9/10)

Beautiful authentic Dar in the Hivernage region of Marrakesh. Just a short taxi journey to Marrakesh centre or a 25 minute wander.

What could be improved: It was clean, food was excellent ( especially dinner at their fabulous restaurant ), the bar staff were attentive and friendly and the hotel staff and concierge could not go enough for you!

  • Quality, calm and chic. – Osama from United Arab Emirates – 24 June 2025 (8/10)

The staff is very attentive and they made sure we were received with the best care. Our room wasn’t ready but we were upgraded to such a spacious suite. Our room was done every single time we stepped out. It is such a calm and cozy place, a true place to rest.

What could be improved: The only thing the property is missing is probably a rooftop but everything is absolutely perfect otherwise. Great value for money.

  • Superb – Nicolas from Norway – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

Everything, such an amazing place and great staff. We will definitely come back next time.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Wonderful! – Marc from United Arab Emirates – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely outstanding from facility to the staff. It was my mom’s 70th birthday occasion which they made so special. Would stay there anytime I come to Marrakesh

  • Breath taking nature – Nadia from Jordan – 16 May 2025 (10/10)

It was an amazing experience, the hotel, the staff, and the breath taking nature in the place.
Thank you so much for having us
