The terrace gets pretty busy during peak season, but early morning? You’ll probably have it to yourself with just the call to prayer echoing across the city and maybe a stray cat eyeing your breakfast. The staff actually sets up this gorgeous spread up there – proper Moroccan breakfast with fresh bread that’s still warm from the local bakery down the alley.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve kept the authentic feel without making you suffer for it. The rooms have that traditional tadelakt plasterwork (you know, that smooth, almost marble-like finish), but they’ve also figured out the hot water situation, which honestly can be hit or miss in some of these older places. The courtyard’s got that classic fountain in the center – it’s not huge, but the sound of trickling water becomes this constant, soothing background noise that somehow makes the whole place feel more peaceful. Getting here can be a bit of an adventure since you’re deep in the medina maze, but it’s actually pretty close to the spice markets and about a ten-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa if you know the shortcuts. The staff will usually meet you at a nearby landmark if you’re arriving with luggage because, let’s be real, navigating those narrow alleys with a suitcase is nobody’s idea of fun. One small thing – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re trying to disconnect and soak up the whole Marrakech experience.
