This place completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. The street itself is actually pretty quiet compared to the chaos you’ll find closer to Jemaa el-Fnaa (thank god), but you’re still only about a 10-minute walk from all the action when you want it. The building has this modern feel that somehow doesn’t clash with Marrakech’s traditional vibe – it’s like they figured out how to do contemporary without being obnoxious about it.

What really got me was the duplex setup, which I’ll admit I was skeptical about at first. I mean, who wants to deal with stairs when you’re dragging luggage around after a long day exploring the souks? But the space actually works brilliantly – you get this sense of having a real apartment rather than just another hotel room. The lower level flows nicely for hanging out, and honestly, having the bedroom upstairs gives you this little retreat feeling that’s perfect after navigating Marrakech’s sensory overload. The air conditioning works properly (crucial during summer months, trust me), and the whole place stays surprisingly cool even during those brutal afternoon hours when the city basically shuts down for a siesta.

The staff here actually knows what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given in Marrakech’s hotel scene. Check-in was smooth, they speak decent English and French, and – this is key – they’re not constantly trying to upsell you on tours or restaurant recommendations that clearly give them kickbacks. They’ll point you toward the good local spots if you ask, but they’re not pushy about it. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (most streets are pretty narrow), but they’ve got it sorted out better than most places I’ve stayed. The morning quiet is something else too – you can actually sleep in without scooters and donkey carts waking you up at dawn, which happened to me at pretty much every other place I tried in the medina area. For a 4-star place, it punches above its weight, and that 9 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve been there a few days.
