The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious – two proper bedrooms that actually fit your luggage without turning into an obstacle course, and both bathrooms have decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled around Morocco, you know that’s not always a given. The living area has these big windows that let in amazing morning light, and I actually found myself having coffee there every day just watching the neighborhood wake up. The kitchen is well-equipped enough that we cooked a few meals – there’s a decent-sized fridge and the stove works properly, though the oven runs a bit hot, so keep an eye on anything you’re baking. What I really appreciated was the air conditioning that actually works (it gets properly hot in summer), and there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms too, which is perfect for those shoulder season nights when AC feels like overkill.

The location really grew on me the longer we stayed. There’s a little café about two blocks away where the locals hang out – they make this incredible msemen in the mornings, and the owner speaks enough English to chat about football if you’re into that. The neighborhood has that authentic feel where kids are playing in the streets in the evenings and you can hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque, but it’s not touristy at all. Getting around is easy – taxis know the area well, and there’s a bus stop nearby if you want to navigate public transport. The host was responsive when we had questions, and check-in was straightforward, though make sure you get clear directions beforehand because GPS can be a bit wonky in this part of town. Honestly, for the price point and the fact that you get a whole apartment with proper space to spread out, it’s a solid choice, especially if you want to experience Marrakech beyond the riad-and-medina bubble that most tourists stick to.
