You know what hits you first at Elegancia Riad? The silence. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa – maybe a five-minute walk through the narrow derbs – but once you duck through that unassuming doorway on Derb Zaouia, it’s like someone turned off the volume on Marrakech. The traditional riad setup works its magic here, with rooms wrapped around a gorgeous central courtyard where the only sounds are trickling water and maybe some quiet conversation from other guests. Honestly, after spending the morning dodging motorbikes and haggling in the souks, that peaceful transition feels almost surreal.

The rooms themselves are exactly what you’d hope for without being too precious about it. They’ve got that authentic Moroccan style – beautiful zellige tiles, carved plasterwork, heavy wooden doors – but someone clearly thought about what modern travelers actually need. The bathrooms are spacious (not always a given in medina riads), the beds are genuinely comfortable, and the AC works well, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those sweltering summer afternoons. I stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the courtyard, and while you might catch snippets of conversation from the common areas, it never felt intrusive. The spa tucked into the lower level is surprisingly good too – they do a solid hammam, and after a long day exploring the medina’s maze-like streets, that’s exactly what your feet will be begging for.

What really sets this place apart though is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. They’re not just handing you generic tourist maps – they’ll tell you which entrance to use for the Saadian Tombs to avoid the crowds, or that the little cafe on the corner serves better mint tea than the fancy places near the main square. The breakfast situation is pretty great too, served in that central courtyard with fresh orange juice (obviously) and proper Moroccan pastries alongside the usual continental stuff. Check-in was smooth, and they helped arrange a driver for the airport without any of that pushy commission-hunting you sometimes get. The location really is ideal if you want to be in the heart of the medina – you’re close enough to walk to all the major sights, but tucked away on a quieter street where you won’t be dodging tour groups every time you step outside. It’s one of those places where the 9.2 rating actually makes sense once you’re there.

  Beautiful property in a good location for the delights of old town Marrakech.. easy walking to all the must visit places .
  Friendly neighbourhood.. local eatery, beautiful hamman spa , pharmacy and taxi rank right there. Not accessible by taxi but just a short stroll from drop off.The staff are delightful and respectful and most accommodating.. helping assisting and ensuring that all my requirements were met .. making calls on my behalf .. chaperoning to taxi and so on. Wonderful experience ..thank you all so very much.

  Hotel was very well located and silent, staff was really really nice, the hammam and massage were really one of the best I've had in Morocco, the hotel was nice the pool is a saviour, breakfast was excellent. I would definitely repeat.

  Riad Elegancia was a genuinely perfect place to stay.
  
  The two stand outs for us were the property itself (it is beautiful and so zen) and the service (nothing was too much, the cleaning was spot on and everything was dealt with promptly and efficiently).
  
  As it was Ramadan no alcohol was served, but you could visit their sister hotel nearby, which was super close and also had a beautiful roof terrace, if you fancied a tipple.

  Rooms was clean and comfortable. We stayed in February, there was hot water and air conditioning units in room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us to arrange agafay trip. Location was amazing , very close to souks and jemaa el-fnaa as well as many other places. We just walked and find many places.
