You know what struck me first about Family Apart? The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in Hivernage but not deal with the chaos of the main tourist strip. It’s tucked away on Avenue Hassan II Nour, which sounds fancy but is actually this quiet residential street where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to all the good restaurants and that whole glitzy hotel zone, but you come home to something that feels more… I don’t know, authentic? Like you’re staying where people actually live.

The apartment itself is what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place – nothing’s going to blow your mind, but everything works and it’s clean, which honestly is half the battle in Marrakech. The setup is great for families (hence the name, I guess) with proper separate spaces so parents aren’t tripping over kids’ stuff constantly. What I really appreciated was the kitchen situation – it’s actually functional, not just some token mini-fridge and hot plate setup. You can make real coffee in the morning without having to venture out, which is clutch when you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to ease into the day. The Wi-Fi held up pretty well too, even when the kids were streaming videos while I was trying to work.

Here’s the thing about the 7.4 rating – it’s probably spot on. This isn’t going to be your Instagram-perfect riad with rose petals and dramatic lighting, but it does what it promises without any major headaches. The building itself is modern by Marrakech standards, so you get reliable hot water and air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in summer). Parking was surprisingly easy compared to some places I’ve stayed in the medina where you’re basically playing automotive Tetris. The only minor complaint? The elevator is a bit temperamental, but we were on the second floor anyway so it wasn’t really an issue.

What really sold me on the area was being able to walk to Carré Eden for groceries without fighting tourist crowds, and you’re maybe ten minutes from Jemaa el-Fnaa if you want the full circus experience. The neighborhood has this nice evening rhythm where locals come out for walks and kids play in the streets – very different from the hotel zones where everything feels a bit staged. If you’re looking for that balance between convenience and actually feeling like you’re in Morocco rather than some sanitized resort bubble, this place hits the sweet spot.

  What could be improved: Appartement mal insonorisé, beaucoup de bruit des voisins et de l'extérieur, surtout les chiens. Cuisine sale.
  Attention, l'appartement n'a que deux salles de bains et pas trois. Il y a trois WC.

  Alles bestens , der Herr Abdulaziz war sehr freundlich. Unserer Eintritt ist ohne Probleme gut gelaufen.
