Fellah Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about the Fellah Hotel? It’s that perfect sweet spot about 20 minutes outside Marrakech’s madness where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I love the energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks, but after a few days of constant haggling and motorbike horns, this place feels like exhaling.
The location on the Ourika road is honestly genius. Most tourists stick to the city center or go full resort mode out in the Palmeraie, but this stretch gives you the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to zip into Marrakech for dinner (though honestly, their restaurant is solid enough that you might not bother), but you wake up to actual Atlas Mountain views instead of construction noise. The road itself can get a bit busy during peak season – especially on weekends when locals head to the Ourika Valley – but the hotel sits back far enough that it’s not really an issue. Plus, if you’re planning day trips to the mountains anyway, you’re already halfway there.
What really gets me is how they’ve nailed that boutique hotel vibe without feeling pretentious about it. The architecture has that traditional Moroccan thing going on – you know, the courtyards and arches – but it doesn’t feel like a theme park version of Morocco, if that makes sense. The staff actually seems to enjoy working there, which honestly makes such a difference. I’ve stayed at plenty of places where the service felt robotic, but here people remember your name and whether you like your mint tea extra sweet. The pool area is where I spent most of my time, and it’s got this laid-back atmosphere where you can read a book without feeling like you’re supposed to be networking or something. The rooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase, and the air conditioning actually works properly – trust me, in Marrakech heat, that’s not a given.
The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs to walk everywhere, this might not be your spot. You’ll want to either rent a car or be comfortable with taxis (which are pretty reasonable from here). But honestly, that’s part of what makes it feel more authentic – you’re staying where people actually live and work, not in some tourist bubble. The 9-star rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Morocco, but it delivers on what it promises and then some.

Reviews of Fellah Hotel
Absolutely great experience – Valentin from Switzerland – 19 May 2025 (10/10)
It was great pleasure, the facility is outstanding. A little Oasis in the middle of Marrakech (a city I wouldn't recommend to others, Agadir is way more pretty). The food and overall service was excellent.
What could be improved: I wished that they gave the animals more space to walk around, I never saw someone taking the horses out for a spin. Furthermore, the menu card was a little short, for a +5 day stay it get's "boring" – the food is excellent on the other side!Very good – Michelle from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (8/10)
Staff were great and food was great although could have been a bit more price concious if your eating ether everyday. more smaller snacks at a lower price.
What could be improved: The gym needs a big upgrade but has a great vibeThe most incredible chilled hotel in a beautiful setting – Rebecca from United Kingdom – 4 April 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful chilled hotel that is almost like a home from home but in the most exotic and gorgeous location. Loved the relaxed vibe, incredible cacti and gardens, fabulous music playing around the hotel, friendly staff, huge rooms, delicious breakfasts and an amazing library !!! Just a perfect place to visit
What could be improved: Nothing at all – it’s perfect. An amazing place to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy the great Moroccan cuisine. – May from Spain – 30 March 2025 (9/10)
Breakfast, pool and loungers, cleanliness and great sized room. We had amazing service and felt very well looked after by Lamia, Ahmed, Zacharia, but also the maids, chef, reception & grounds staff were all very good and super friendly. Although the menu is limited, everything we ate was delicious, especially the local dishes (tagines, couscous).
What could be improved: Rooms aren't very soundproof so on occasion we were woken up by other guests.Amazing trip, cool, calm and relaxed – Rhys from United Kingdom – 1 March 2025 (10/10)
