The Résidence Belle Loge sits right on rue Lobnane, which I know sounds like nothing if you haven’t been to the area, but it’s actually perfect positioning. You’re in the heart of Gueliz (the modern part of town), so you can walk to decent restaurants and cafes without dealing with the chaos of the medina every single time you want a coffee.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – assuming your friend has excellent taste and actually knows how to set up a proper terrace. That terrace, by the way, is what sold me on this place. Most Marrakech accommodations either stick you in a windowless riad room or give you some tiny balcony that barely fits a chair. Here, you’ve got actual space to spread out, and the view gives you that nice mix of modern Marrakech life below and the Atlas Mountains in the distance. I mean, I spent more time up there than I expected, especially in the evenings when the city starts to cool down and you can hear the call to prayer echoing from different directions.

What really works about this place is the details – the kind of stuff that tells you someone actually thought about what travelers need. The kitchen has proper equipment (not just a sad mini-fridge and a broken coffee maker), the wifi actually works throughout the entire apartment, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on your roof. The building itself is quiet too, which honestly shocked me because Marrakech can be… well, let’s just say it’s not known for peaceful nights. But rue Lobnane is residential enough that you’re not dealing with scooters honking at 2 AM, yet you’re still close enough to Avenue Mohammed V that you can easily grab a taxi or find a good restaurant. There’s this little patisserie about a five-minute walk away that does incredible croissants – the kind of local spot you’d never find if you were stuck in the tourist zone. The whole Gueliz area feels more livable, you know? Like you can actually experience a bit of modern Moroccan life instead of just the tourist version of it.
