Home Star Marrakech Overview
So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Home Star Marrakech in the Izdihar district, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean, it’s not right in the medina where all the tourist action happens, but you know what? That actually turned out to be the best part. The place sits in this quieter residential area where you can actually hear yourself think, which is saying something in Marrakech.
The hotel itself has this understated elegance that I really appreciated – none of that over-the-top riad drama you see everywhere else. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making your stay work, not just going through the motions. I remember the guy at reception (Mohamed, I think?) actually drew me a little map showing the best way to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa that avoided the main tourist traps. Takes about 20 minutes on foot, or you can grab one of those petit taxis for maybe 15 dirhams if you’re not feeling the walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the AC actually works properly (crucial in summer), and the beds are surprisingly good. What really got me was the attention to small details… like, they had these local olive oil soaps in the bathroom that smelled incredible, and the morning coffee was actually decent, not that bitter stuff you sometimes get.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got a 9.2 rating for a reason, and it’s not because they’re paying for fake reviews. The location in Izdihar means you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough away that you can escape the constant hustle when you need to. There’s a decent little café called Café Zellij about two blocks away where locals actually hang out, and if you’re into hammams, there’s an authentic one nearby that won’t charge you tourist prices. The hotel’s breakfast is solid – fresh bread, local honey, decent fruit – though honestly, you’ll probably want to venture out for proper Moroccan breakfast at least once. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but the hotel can usually sort something out if you ask nicely. I stayed there during shoulder season in March and it was perfectly quiet, though I imagine it gets busier when the weather’s cooler in winter. One small thing – the wifi in the rooms can be spotty, but it works fine in the common areas if you need to get work done. For the price point and what you get, especially considering how crazy expensive some of the riads in the medina can be, this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.

I highly recommend this flat fir many reasons as the following: excellent for family, clean, cool, kitchen with washing machine, WIFI available and especially the services from home Star Marrakech is very good
What could be improved: Noise from joints of doors and the bathroom is not included on the bidet.Çok memnun kaldım çok teşekkür ederim – Ahmet from Turkey – 27 April 2025 (10/10)
Küçük ama temiz
Mon séjour a été globalement agréable – Ahmed from Mauritania – 17 April 2025 (8/10)
Mon séjour a été globalement agréable, bien que l'emplacement ( IZDIHAR) de l'hébergement soit un peu éloigné du GITEX. La disponibilité limitée des taxis a rendu les déplacements parfois difficiles. Merci pour votre accueil .
