Hotel Le Rocher Marrakech Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel Le Rocher? It’s got this perfect spot in Hivernage where you’re close enough to hear the energy of Marrakech but far enough from the medina chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, Avenue Echouhada isn’t exactly a quiet street during the day, but honestly, the hotel’s set back enough that the traffic noise fades to this sort of urban white noise by evening. The building itself has this understated elegance – not trying too hard to be authentically Moroccan like some places do, but not bland either. When I walked into the lobby, there was this subtle blend of traditional elements with modern comfort that actually felt genuine rather than staged for Instagram.
The staff here gets it – they understand that most guests are using this as a home base to explore the city, so they’re really helpful with practical stuff like arranging reliable taxis (not the ones that’ll take you on a scenic route to jack up the fare) and honest recommendations for restaurants. The rooms are well, solid. Nothing that’ll blow your mind, but the beds are comfortable, the AC works properly – which you’ll definitely need if you’re visiting between May and September – and the bathrooms have decent water pressure. I appreciated the little touches like having actual hangers in the closet and enough outlets near the bed for charging devices. The pool area is where this place really shines though. It’s this peaceful oasis where you can decompress after spending hours wandering through the souks, and the deck chairs are positioned so you’re not staring directly into your neighbor’s room, which is surprisingly rare in Marrakech hotels.
What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa if you want to dive into the full sensory overload of the main square, but you’re also close to the newer part of the city where you can grab a coffee that doesn’t cost a fortune or find a pharmacy without navigating a maze of narrow alleys. The hotel shuttle to the medina is convenient for evening trips when you don’t want to deal with haggling over taxi prices, and they run it frequently enough that you’re not stuck waiting around. Honestly, for a four-star place, it punches above its weight – the 8.5 rating makes sense because while it’s not luxury, it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should. The breakfast is decent (though skip the eggs – they tend to sit under the heat lamps too long), and the front desk staff genuinely seem to care about whether you’re having a good stay rather than just going through the motions.

Reviews of Hotel Le Rocher Marrakech
Exceptional – Cemalettin from Turkey – 3 June 2025 (10/10)
Good location and nice room
What could be improved: Enviroment was noisy till morning.Nice hotel with pluses and minuses – Sinziana from Romania – 25 May 2025 (9/10)
It’s a nice hotel in Gueliz, the new side of Marrakech. We got an upgrade to a better room with a nice bathroom and a balcony. There was a coffee machine with Nespresso capsules and complimentary water. The rooftop, with the swimming pool and the bar, offers a nice and relaxing view.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant round the corner, Huqqa. You can choose from 2 breakfast types: Moroccan and International (brunch style). Both are rich and delicious, but we preferred the second one, named Le Rocher. We appreciate getting breakfast box the last morning because we had an early flight. The receptionist helped us with a taxi when leaving for the airport.
What could be improved: Other rooms got complimentary water, fruits, toiletries and coffee capsules without requesting them, as we did.
We had no slippers in the room, had to ask for as well.
Cleaning ladies do not speak French or English, we could not understand each other.
At arrival we were told our room would be ready in 1h so we could go for a walk leaving our luggage in the reception area, and we would find it in our room at return. But it was not so, our suitcases were still in the lobby.
On going constructions in the building across the street caused some noise.
Be aware it's far from Medina, about 40 min walking from Jemaa el-Fna square or Jardin Majorelle.Lovely place to stay – Ajmal from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (9/10)
A lovely hotel, with lovely facilities, with a rooftop pool. The room was clean and room service was regular with really good staff, we enjoyed our stay we were roughly 20 mins walk from the jamaa el fna. The location was lovely with lots of amenities surrounding us.
What could be improved: the breakfast was lovely but would have been nice to have more options as it was same two options for the whole week.Good – Kamax from Spain – 16 May 2025 (7/10)
