Hotel Riu Tikida Palmeraie – All Inclusive Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of all-inclusives around Marrakech, and Hotel Riu Tikida Palmeraie honestly surprised me in the best way. It’s about six kilometers out on the Fés road – far enough that you’re not dealing with the medina chaos but close enough that a petit taxi won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The thing is, most people think being outside the city center is a downside, but you know what? When you’re lounging by the pool in the afternoon and all you hear are palm fronds rustling instead of scooters honking, you’ll get it.
The resort itself sits in this sprawling palm grove area (hence the name – palmeraie means palm grove, which I actually learned on my second day there). It’s got that classic Moroccan architecture thing going on without feeling like a theme park, if you know what I mean. The rooms are solid – nothing fancy, but the AC works like a dream (trust me, you’ll care about this in summer), and I loved that they actually have proper blackout curtains. Small thing, but when you’re jet-lagged and the Marrakech sun is blazing at 6 AM, you’ll thank me for mentioning it. The all-inclusive setup is pretty comprehensive too – decent buffet with both international stuff and Moroccan dishes, though honestly the tagines at dinner are better than the lunch ones. The poolside bar makes surprisingly good mojitos, and the coffee… well, it’s hotel coffee, but there’s a lovely café about ten minutes’ walk down the road if you’re picky about that sort of thing.
What really sold me on this place was the staff – they actually seem to enjoy their jobs, which isn’t always a given at these big resort chains. The guy at reception (I think his name was Youssef?) knew I was a coffee snob by day three and would point me toward the stronger stuff at breakfast. And the location really grows on you – sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Jemaa el-Fnaa, but you’re also not dealing with the constant hustle that comes with staying in the heart of things. The Annakhil area has this weird suburban-meets-oasis vibe that’s actually quite relaxing. Plus, if you do want to hit the souks or see the Koutoubia mosque, the hotel runs a decent shuttle service, and honestly, sometimes it’s nice to come back to somewhere quiet after a day of navigating the medina’s beautiful chaos. It’s a solid four-star that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – just good food, comfortable beds, and that laid-back Moroccan hospitality that makes you want to extend your stay.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and the facilities were excellent including the spa where we enjoyed a wonderful relaxing massage. The food was good but pretty much the same every day except for the Morrocan themed night which was very good. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and about 25 minutes from the city centre but they provide a free shuttle bus or it is easy to get a taxi.
Lovely for few days stay. The grounds are stunningly beautiful. The food is plentiful and the cocktail bar is very nice. – Claire from United Kingdom – 30 March 2025 (8/10)
Beautiful gardens. Nice walks around grounds. Staff were all very friendly
What could be improved: Sunloungers were not very comfortable. Towels in room were very thin and small.Superb – Ian from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (9/10)
Clean, friendly efficient staff. Easy going .
Good – Dorothy from United Kingdom – 24 March 2025 (7/10)
The rooms were clean and comfortable and they had a decent variety of foods
What could be improved: The wifi in the rooms did not work the entire time I was there. Mobile reception was also terrible in the rooms. I tried to call the reception to fix the wifi issue and they reassured me maintenance was coming to have a look. Maintenance never came the whole 5 days I was there. We’ve been twice now once as a family snd once with friends and absolutely loved our stay. The staff is amazing and work – Korneliske from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (8/10)
The beautiful grounds, the cleanliness and the staff are absolutely amazing. Also good variety of food , there’s something for everyone.
What could be improved: What is there not to like. I would move in if I could haha.
Think the only things to work on would perhaps be a later shuttle bus back in the evening.
