Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Marrakech, and this apartment in the Gueliz-Majorelle area honestly surprised me. When you first walk into Residenz Assafaa1 – it’s this modern building that actually feels refreshingly calm after the beautiful chaos of the medina – you’re hit with how genuinely sparkly clean everything is. I mean, the photos don’t lie, but seeing it in person? The place practically gleams.

The location is what really makes this work though. You’re literally walking distance to the Majorelle Garden (hence the neighborhood name), which means you can dodge the tour groups by hitting it early morning, then come back to your own little sanctuary. The Gueliz district has this interesting mix of old Marrakech charm and modern conveniences – there’s a Carrefour about ten minutes away if you need to grab supplies, and honestly, the restaurants along Avenue Mohammed V are where locals actually eat, not just tourists. The flat itself sits on Rue Moslem, which is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep at night but connected enough that you won’t feel stranded. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but the building seems to have sorted that out better than most places I’ve seen.

What struck me most was how the owner clearly lives in Marrakech and knows what travelers actually need. The kitchen is properly equipped – not just decorative – and there’s real attention to details like water pressure (excellent) and air conditioning that works without sounding like a freight train. The furnishing feels deliberate rather than thrown together, with these nice Moroccan touches that don’t feel like tourist shop overflow. You know what I appreciated? The WiFi actually works consistently, which – trust me – isn’t always a given in Marrakech, even in nice places. The building’s setup means you get that residential feel without sacrificing the services you’d expect from a good hotel. With a 9.7 rating, I was curious if it could live up to the hype, but honestly, it delivers on that promise of being both gorgeous and practical, which is harder to pull off than you’d think.

  Un apartamento totalmente nuevo, las camas son muy cómodas y tiene muy buena conexión wifi. Tiene una amplia sala de estar con una televisión de 90" y una cocina totalmente equipada. Hay supermercados cerca donde comprar lo necesario. También hay cafeterías en el vecindario donde dos personas pueden desayunar por menos de 10€. Amir, el anfitrión, nos informó que más adelante incluirán servicio de desayuno. Tanto él como su personal han sido muy amables, atentos y han sabido responder de manera excepcional a todas nuestras dudas y requerimientos.
  
  What could be improved: El apartamento está ubicado en la zona moderna de Marrakesh. Esta no había sido nuestra primera opción, pero debido a circunstancias totalmente ajenas a Maroc Suite Plus Car tuvimos que alojarnos aquí. Una vez nos pudimos ubicar nos dimos cuenta que la Medina estaba a tan solo 10 minutos caminando y también a 10 minutos andando del maravilloso Jardin Majorelle y Museo Yves Saint Laurent, lo que añadió interés a nuestra visita.

  De accomodatie is ruim en heel goed gemeubileerd. Alles is nieuw en schoon.Je voelt je-eigen gelijk thuis.De host kan je evt helpen met informatie als je dat nodig zou hebben
  
  What could be improved: Je moet per dag extra bijbetalen voor stads belasting en voor de schoonmaak. Hierdoor wordt de huurprijs hoger.
