You know, when I first pulled up to Jnan Lotf Marrakech, I’ll be honest — I was a bit skeptical. It’s about 10 kilometers out on the Ourika road, which means you’re definitely leaving the medina chaos behind, but that distance actually turned out to be the place’s secret weapon. The name translates to “Garden of Benevolence,” and honestly, once you step through those doors, you get why they chose it.

The thing about this place is that it feels like someone’s incredibly well-appointed home rather than a hotel. I mean, sure, it’s got that riad-style architecture you’d expect, but there’s something more intimate about it — maybe it’s the way the staff actually remembers your name, or how the gardens aren’t just for show but actually smell like jasmine and orange blossoms in the evening. The pool area is where I spent most of my mornings, and here’s what nobody tells you: it’s perfectly positioned to catch the Atlas Mountain views while staying shaded enough that you’re not melting by 11 AM. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you realize they’ve nailed the little things — like actually having water pressure in the shower (not always a given in Morocco) and rooms that stay cool without cranking the AC to arctic levels.

What I loved most was being on that Ourika road stretch. During the day, you can easily grab a grand taxi or ask the hotel to arrange transport into the medina — it’s maybe 20 minutes depending on traffic, and the drive gives you these glimpses of local life you’d miss if you were stuck in the tourist quarter. But evenings? That’s when the location really shines. While everyone else is dealing with the souks winding down and the dinner crowds, you’re sitting on a terrace watching the sun set behind the mountains, hearing nothing but birds and the occasional call to prayer drifting over from the nearby villages. The restaurant food is solid too — not trying to be fancy French or whatever, just well-executed Moroccan dishes that taste like someone’s grandmother approved the recipes. I actually found myself eating there more than I planned, which says something since I’m usually the type to venture out every night. The only thing I’d warn you about is that if you’re someone who needs to be walking distance from nightlife, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to experience Morocco without feeling like you’re performing tourism every second, and you appreciate a place that feels both elegant and genuinely welcoming, Jnan Lotf gets it right.

  What can I say? We had the most unforgettable trip in Marrakech thanks to Jnan Lotf and staff! We wanted somewhere that was away from the busy town centre, but we still had easy access via taxis. There is a beautiful farm around the villa with lots of fruit trees, vegetation, farm animals such as goats, chicken and even a horse. Thanks to Michael for giving us a tour, we even got to spend time with the animals and do a cooking lesson using the crops from the garden!
  We booked the King Suite with spa bath and the room was nice and spacious. We loved using the bath and it even has a jacuzzi setting. The pool was lovely and large, lots of guests come to just use the pool too. Breakfast was included with the booking, which we looked forward to every morning! The villa gives you the option to have lunch or dinner at their restaurant and the most amazing thing is most of the ingredients they use is local from their very own farm, I even saw some staff picking herbs and vegetables to be used at the kitchen.
  Overall, we had an exceptional experience at Jnan Lotf and it was definitely the best value for money we got from booking any villa/hotel. They even remembered my partner's birthday and greeted him with a birthday cake in the morning. We loved experiencing this side of Marrakech and felt truly special with the service they provided us with and we'd love to come back with family and friends. Thank you to Michael, Imane and staff for their incredible service!
  
  What could be improved: – At times the wifi/service was quite slow which was mostly only in the evenings (didn't bother us much)
  – It would be better if you could provide a mini bar in the rooms so we can store cold drinks and preserve our food.

  Lovely, peaceful location. Our room was large and the bed so comfy (King suite)
  Mustafa and Ahmed look after you very well and Majid the taxi driver. We booked a private trip with Mustafa's help to Ourika and the waterfalls. You will need extra money for taxi's to Marrakech unless you hire a car.. The pool and gardens are very nice and they grow their own produce to use in the kitchen.
  There are lots of friendly cats 🙂

  The quietness from the city, the room was amazing with 2 balconies and the pool area was so nice as well!
  Staff was so very helpful and salute to them all.
  
  What could be improved: Only negative I could say is maybe the drive from and back to Marrakech, but you know what you’re getting when you’re getting when ordering the hotel and we accepted

  We loved everything!!! 😍 Really exceeded expectations.
  I can't say enough how beautiful this place is.
  We were treated like king & queen from arrival to leaving, Mustafa was amazing and could not do enough for us.
  The hotel is really lovely, the room was amazing and huge with a view of the pool, comfy bed, and 3 balconies on different sides of the sun. Heating & air con, and huge jacuzzi bath.
  Pool is just awesome, lots of daybeds and loungers and you can just hear the sound of birds singing. Just a really peaceful retreat with views of the mountains. We really wanted to stay longer.
  Food in the restaurant was lovely and good value, huge breakfast and great drinks. They organised a good airport transfer, also helped with anything we needed – big shout-out to Mustafa.
  Definitely 100% recommend this place to make an amazing trip to Marrakech.

  If you happen to be looking for a place to enjoy the sound of nature, either in a good company or by your own self; you shall definitely be staying Jnan Lotf.
  
  The food, the extreme kindness of the staff, the spacious cozy yet particular rooms, the birds that are perfectly drumbeating your day through the finest melodies; All of it was splendidly offered during the stay.
  
  As Mustapha said when we arrived: “here, you can hear your bones cracking” as in reference to the peaceful , quiet aspect of the place.
  
  NOTE: We extended our stay by one night, because we simply couldn’t get enough from that astonishing, calm, relaxing environment.
