Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw this place listed as “Jolie petit Riyad avec piscine belle terrasse wifi,” I thought it was trying too hard with the French name. But once you actually find it on Route des Remparts near Bab El Khmiss, you get why they went with “jolie petit.” It really is a lovely little riad, and honestly, the location is pretty smart. You’re outside the absolute chaos of the medina but still close enough that you can walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about fifteen minutes without getting completely lost in the souks.

The pool is what sold me, though. I mean, Marrakech in summer is no joke, and after spending hours wandering through those narrow alleys where the sun barely reaches the ground but somehow it’s still blazing hot, you just want to collapse somewhere with water. The terrace they mention? It’s actually really nice – not huge, but there’s enough space to spread out, and you get these glimpses of the Atlas Mountains on clear days. The wifi works well enough for staying connected, which honestly surprised me because a lot of these traditional riads struggle with that. You know what I appreciated most? The staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Saadian Tombs without going through the main tourist drag, the guy at reception drew me this little map showing back streets I never would have found otherwise.

Now, it’s got a 7.9 rating, which feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does what it promises without any major disappointments. The rooms are clean, the AC works (crucial), and there’s this nice mix of traditional Moroccan tilework with practical modern touches. I stayed here during shoulder season and it was pretty quiet, though I imagine it gets busier when the weather’s perfect. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the street noise in the morning – Route des Remparts gets some traffic, and Moroccan drivers aren’t exactly quiet about it. But honestly, if you’re the type who needs complete silence, you probably shouldn’t be staying anywhere near Marrakech’s old city anyway. What I really liked was how the place felt authentic without being too precious about it. Some riads get so caught up in the whole “traditional experience” thing that they forget guests need practical stuff to work. This one strikes a good balance – you get the beautiful courtyard and the sense of staying somewhere with real character, but your shower has decent water pressure and the beds are actually comfortable.

  Brahim, the host, welcomed us on arrival and was very helpful throughout our stay. He arranged taxis for us when we needed and gave us valuable information on trips and on the local area.
  
  What could be improved: The shower head in 2 of the 3 bathrooms could not hang on the wall. There was some leakage in the top bathroom and a slight sewage smell at times.

  The property was pleasant in a pretty urbanisation. The security staff and the person who met with us to manage transfer of keys were all friendly.
  There is a lovely pool area, supermarket and cafes in the locality.
  
  What could be improved: There was no functioning heater and it was cold. Despite an air-con system with heat setting, a gas heater and two electric heaters onsite, none of these worked.
  The bedrooms were very pleasant , however there is an overpowering smell of sewage drains from the bathroom on the top floor. This made it difficult to be in the room without the window open.

  Ibrahim est au petit soin, toujours présent mais très discret. De très bon service, il nous a même proposé qu'une cuisinière nous apporte un repas. Tajine livré à domicile ++++++

  What could be improved: Il faut marcher un peu (environ 30 min) pour accéder à la place Jemma El Fna, (le Riad n'est pas au coeur de la médina).

  Went with my 2 children 18 and 22yrs old
  It felt like home where we stayed it's literally a Moroccon home imagine going to stay with relatives, lovely big 3 story house with rooftop seating
  10-15 by taxi to Marakesh square
  
  Ibrahim is the one who looks after the apartment and who sorts the taxis and excursions was amazing book everything through him because you have a private taxi so your not on a coach full of strangers, you have a more personal experience doing it thay way, plus it's the same price and don't charge you extra when on the tours unlike the coach ones, and you go at your own pace, driver will take you anywhere you want to go so your not on a time schedule as with coach tours
  
  Regarding the restaurants in our complex they are all lovely but we preferred the Samara which is owned by Aziz again another lovely experience the food is Beautiful and its family run

  Le Ryad était typiquement local , c’était très agréable . Il était spacieux , fonctionnel , et très propre !
  Il ne manquait rien .
  3 chambres , 3 sdb avec toilettes .
  La disponibilité d’Hicham était très agréable .
  À l’intérieur de cette résidence il y avait des petits snacks très bon avec un bon rapport qualité-prix ainsi que des supérettes avec tout ce dont on a besoin .
  Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute .
  
  What could be improved: La piscine qui était bondée de monde et l’eau n’était pas propre du tout .
  Mais possibilité d’aller dans d’autres piscines de Marrakech à proximité .

  Nous avons entièrement la maison pour nous !! Cuisine, salle à manger, grand salon, 3 chambres sur 3 étages et la terrasse privative. Wow ! De plus, accès à la piscine du complexe. Tout près de la Bab El Khemis ; facile à pied (30 minutes) pour se rendre à la Place Jemma El Fna, et facile en taxi/tuk tuk pour revenir. Très sécuritaire. Nous y avons passé 3 nuits.
  
  What could be improved: Le logement gagnerait à acquérir certains équipements comme des linges à vaisselles, de bonnes poêles et casseroles, des spatules, etc.
