You know what caught me off guard about the Kenzi Club Agdal Medina? It’s actually tucked away in the newer part of Marrakech, which means you get this interesting mix of modern comfort without completely losing that Moroccan authenticity. The location on Avenue Mohamed VI is honestly perfect if you want to experience the city but still have a peaceful retreat to come back to – I mean, you’re far enough from the Medina madness that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you into the heart of things.

The all-inclusive setup here is surprisingly well done, and I’ve stayed at plenty of places where that translates to mediocre buffet food and watered-down drinks. Not the case here. The main restaurant has this beautiful courtyard setting where you can hear the call to prayer echoing from nearby mosques in the early morning (which is actually quite peaceful, not disruptive like you might think). The pool area is where this place really shines though – it’s got these gorgeous traditional tiles and plenty of space to spread out, even during busy season. I spent way too many afternoons there with a book and mint tea, watching the Atlas Mountains in the distance. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re comfortable, and their English is solid if your French or Arabic is rusty.

What really sets this place apart is how it handles the tourist balance. You’ll find plenty of international guests, but the design and atmosphere still feel authentically Moroccan – none of that sanitized resort feeling you get at some places. The rooms are spacious (thank god, because Marrakech can be overwhelming and you need space to decompress), and the air conditioning actually works properly, which is crucial if you’re visiting in summer. Honestly, the 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on everything it promises. The spa treatments are worth splurging on if you’ve been wandering the souks all day, and the evening entertainment strikes a nice balance between cultural and accessible. Just a heads up though – if you’re planning to explore the Medina frequently, budget for taxis since it’s not exactly walking distance, but that’s actually a blessing when you want to escape the intensity of the old city.
