First Impressions

You know what hits you first when you pull up to La Villa? The fact that you’re actually 19 kilometers out of Marrakech‘s madness, on the Fès road where things get properly quiet. I mean, this isn’t your typical riad tucked into the medina — it’s more like stumbling onto someone’s elegant country retreat. The property has this understated charm that honestly surprised me, especially considering it doesn’t carry an official star rating but somehow manages to feel more polished than plenty of places that do.

The Setting

Being out on Route de Fès means you’re trading the constant buzz of the city for something much more peaceful, and I think that’s exactly the point. You’ll need a car or taxi to get into Marrakech proper, but there’s free parking right on site, which is actually a huge relief if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere near the medina. The location works particularly well for couples — and I can see why, given how romantic it feels when the sun sets over the surrounding landscape. It’s far enough out that you feel like you’re in the real Morocco, not just the tourist version.

Rooms and Comfort

The rooms at La Villa have this comfortable, lived-in elegance that doesn’t try too hard. You won’t find over-the-top Moroccan decor everywhere — instead, there’s a more refined approach that actually lets you relax. The beds are genuinely comfortable (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in Morocco), and the bathrooms are well-appointed without being flashy. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything stays, even with other guests around.

Food and Activities

Breakfast here is surprisingly comprehensive — you can go continental if you want something light, or opt for the full English if you need something more substantial before heading out for the day. The cooking classes are where things get interesting though. I watched other guests come back absolutely buzzing about what they’d learned, and it’s the kind of authentic experience that actually teaches you something useful. The swimming pool becomes your best friend during those scorching afternoon hours when even the locals are hiding indoors.

That 9.7 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects how La Villa manages to hit this sweet spot between authentic Moroccan hospitality and genuine comfort. You’re close enough to Marrakech to explore whenever you want, but far enough away that you can actually unwind. The staff seems to understand that sometimes travelers just want things to work smoothly without constant fuss or upselling. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned, not because there’s so much to do on-site, but because it just feels right.

  L’endroit dans un village loin du bruit et de la ville, la villa est magnifique gros coup de coeur notre maman adoptive Hasna qui a pris soin de ma soeur et moi comme ses filles, ses plats était succulents et savoureux sa reste le meilleur souvenirs de mon séjour, la piscine était super et le personnel adorable je reviendrai avec grand plaisir !

  Ein traumhafter Aufenthalt in einer stilvollen Oase
  
  Die Villa war wirklich toll – stilvoll eingerichtet mit einer wunderschönen Mischung aus modernen Designerstücken und traditionellen marokkanischen Möbeln und Accessoires. Alles war sehr sauber, gepflegt und mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet.
  
  Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich, hilfsbereit und dabei angenehm unaufdringlich. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir unsere „Mama“, die Köchin und Hausdame Hasna, die uns mit viel Herzblut köstliches, authentisches marokkanisches Essen zubereitet hat!
  
  Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und waren richtig traurig, nach drei Nächten diese zauberhafte Unterkunft wieder verlassen zu müssen. Es war ein echtes Erlebnis, das wir nicht vergessen werden.
  
  Wer Ruhe, Stil und marokkanische Gastfreundschaft in einer kleinen Luxus-Oase sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Absolut empfehlenswert!

  Un moment suspendu dans un coin de paradis…
  
  Au détour d’un petit village, un simple repère :
  « Il y a un gros arbre devant l’entrée », nous dit Fatima.
  Et là, au milieu de nulle part, une porte magnifique.
  Derrière elle, la surprise, l’émerveillement :
  la villa est somptueuse, paisible, parfaitement entretenue.
  Hassna nous accueille avec une douceur infinie.
  Dès les premiers instants, elle nous touche par sa gentillesse, sa bienveillance naturelle.
  On comprend vite qu’elle est le cœur battant de cette maison.
  Fatima, toujours disponible, est la botte secrète du lieu.
  Efficace, discrète, présente à chaque besoin,
  elle veille sur nos séjours comme une fée bienveillante.
  Autour de nous, un jardin splendide où le temps semble s’arrêter.
  La piscine invite à la sérénité, et Mohamed veille avec soin
  sur chaque plante, chaque fleur, chaque détail.
  Et puis il y a les plats d’Hassna…
  Un véritable festival de saveurs,
  préparé avec amour, servi avec le cœur.
  Merci, Hassna, pour ta présence, ton sourire, ta délicatesse.
  Tu as pris une place spéciale dans nos cœurs. Ne change rien.
  Merci à la propriétaire de cette villa d’avoir créé un lieu si chaleureux,
  où l’on se sent bien, apaisé, chez soi.
  Ce séjour restera un merveilleux souvenir.

• The perfect place for relaxing on the pool and an authentic place to stay – Karl from United Kingdom – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

  This is an excellent choice if you have a car, it's about 40 minutes away from Marrakech but it's worth it for the great facilities, the freshly made breakfast, the swimming pool and the very nice and authentic villa. It's very calm and quiet, very suitable for relaxation and the rest. The staff are very helpful and supportive and the owner is very responsible, I can't recommend this place enough.
  
  What could be improved: There's not really we didn't like, we knew about the distance and factored it in, there aren't many facilities nearby but with some planning you can get around that

  Amazing stay at la Villa, It is a very nice and confortable place, well decorated.
  Hassna is very welcoming, made the stay extra confortable by providing us morrocan breakfast and diner.
  I recommend for a family & friend stay to visit Marrakech.

  Tout était spectaculaire , décoré avec goût . Tout ce que l'on recherchait , reposant. Le jardin magnifique aussi. Le petit déj super. Mais surtout la gentillesse, le sourire et l'accueil de Hasna , Fatima , et Sylvie. Villa sécurisée avec gardien. Nous avons passé de merveilleuses vacances. Et nous reviendrons sûrement.

  The best breakfast I ever had, while visiting another country! The location is outside Marrakech, but you can see mountains! Everything was beautiful and women helping us were super nice! Thank you! We also ordered diner for two evenings and I recommend it very much!

  The villa was great and the stay was a unique experience in itself. The location is calm and safe. The neighbors are very friendly . This villa is appropriate for anyone that wants relaxed environment amongst family or friends.
