LE BLED DE GRE Overview

You know what really got me about Le Bled de Gré? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy, but somehow nails that authentic Marrakech vibe without feeling like a tourist trap. I mean, when you first pull up to this spot in the Medina area, it’s not screaming “look at me” from the street – actually, you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. But once you’re inside, it’s like stepping into someone’s really well-designed home, if that someone happened to have incredible taste and understood how to blend traditional Moroccan architecture with just enough modern touches to keep things comfortable.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re actually in Marrakech, not some sanitized version of it. You’re close enough to the main action that you can hear the call to prayer echoing off the buildings in the morning (which I actually loved – it’s part of the whole experience), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of scooters and street vendors right outside your window. The staff here really knows their stuff too – they’ll give you directions that actually make sense, not the tourist-friendly but totally useless “just go toward the big square” kind of advice. One guy at the front desk drew me a little map showing which alleyways to take to avoid the crowds when heading to Jemaa el-Fnaa, and he was spot on.

What really sets this place apart is how they handle the details. The rooms have this great mix of traditional tiles and modern bathrooms that actually work properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and the courtyard – honestly, it’s where you’ll probably end up spending most of your time. There’s something about sitting there in the evening with a mint tea, watching the light change on the walls, that just feels right. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or stay connected, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which is more than I can say for some other places I’ve stayed in the city. Check-in was smooth, parking isn’t really a thing here (you’ll want to arrange that separately), and they’re pretty flexible about storing luggage if you arrive early. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s exactly what you want from a solid four-star place that gets the fundamentals right and adds just enough character to make your stay memorable.

Reviews of LE BLED DE GRE

  • Loved it, would Def come again if flying to Marrakech as it's right by the airport. – Charlotte from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (9/10)

Don't be put off by the approach to the hotel, when you get there it's gorgeous. Laid back bohemian vibe with beautiful pool and really nice rooms, lots of space, comfy beds, friendly people. Best of all there are animals freely roaming all of the place that are so tame and beautiful 😍. Donkeys, friendly dogs, kittens, tortoises, peacocks all over the place. We stayed with our 3 kids and hey loved it. Was a bit tricky for the taxi driver to find (we came from the station in a taxi, takes 15-20 mins from there), the GPS directions did work though.

What could be improved: Food good but bit expensive and no other option in walking distance

  • Really difficult to find- but worth it when you get there!! – David from United Kingdom – 28 April 2025 (9/10)

This hotel was surprisingly amazing, with great gardens and a fantastic pool.
The central court/garden areas was incredible, the decor is amazing and the huge garden meant we had plenty of space. Every preference in the garden has been catered for, big groups small intimate areas, shaded and sunny spots and even somewhere to shower, sleep and change in privacy- so great!
There are lots of animals around, peacocks, donkeys, cats and dogs, turkeys, tortoises, great if your you're an animal lover, not so great if you're not, and persistence cats and dogs will beg for food when you're eating which I wasn't overly keen on.
The breakfasts were great! The rooms were fine, quite simple and I think a self contained place 10 mins away from the airport. It is surprisingly quiet considering it is near the airport.
Khalid was really helpful, polite and knowledgeable.

What could be improved: Like everyone else, we found it impossible to find it ourselves, even after asking local people, another hotel who rang them for directions but couldn't seem to understand the directions!! I think a map on their website showing precisely where it is would be helpful ( googlemaps not helpful) We tried to find it in our car and eventually gave up when faced with driving through a rough track through a rubbish tip ( there is another way). The cab driver thought he knew where it was, but took us to the wrong hotel, not too far away but had to go through tiny roads, through a small village, and a rubbish tip to get there which wasn't great. There is a more direct way there- but only if you know where it is.
It is worth it when you get there, however I found it a complete nightmare to get there and something should be done to help customers not familiar with the area to find it easier- I'm sure this can be done.
We ate there morning, noon and evening meals ( as we didn't have the car) . Breakfast was fine, sandwiches came with fries and we had the burger for one dinner which also came with oily fries. It was Ok but a little too unhealthy for us. The menu is quite limited in our view. The next day I missed lunch (as a am vegetarian and ate lots of veggie tagine so wanted something different) and only had 2/3 options or so- so more choice for vegetarians please. If you're eating, drinking there throughout the day with family it can get a little pricey. A wider more variable menu would be most welcome. But overall a fantastic hotel, next time I shall take my own food, eat elsewhere and keep the car so we can drive to near town.

  • It was beautiful and peaceful – Aleksandra from Poland – 4 January 2025 (8/10)

    Garden

What could be improved: Location around

  • Idillic for animal lovers, hire a car – Rachel from United Kingdom – 4 January 2025 (8/10)

Beautiful place to stay, great hosts! Animals everywhere which was so nice & great food too!

What could be improved: The location is far from Marrakesh town and it’s a flat taxi fee regardless of distance. Hire a car if you stay here

  • Lovely and peaceful place! – Benedicte from United Kingdom – 17 December 2024 (9/10)

Absolutely charming and beautiful place, large and comfortable family room, extensive garden (with a large swimming pool), very nice dinner and breakfast, lots of friendly animals everywhere, close to the airport. We arrived very late to the hotel and the staff kindly waited for us and prepared us a delicious dinner – many thanks for a great welcome!

What could be improved: The last km of road to the hotel is a dirt road that may be a little difficult to find without a good GPS. But once you get there it is a little heaven.

  • wonderful place to stay – Adriana from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (9/10)

It is an incredible place … wonderful surrending… all the animals make the place a perfect spot to stay with friends, family and kids. very specious and beautiful❤️ with very tasty breakfast.

What could be improved: it was a bit of hassle to find the place …. not only for us but also for the taxi drivers, which made this a bit difficult and pricey. Also the food and drinks were 3 times more expensive then in the city which was a big Minus for us. We would definitely enjoy having some meals and drinks there but ended up going out everyday because of that.

  • Superb – Brugh from United Kingdom – 11 November 2024 (9/10)

Mohammed and Khalid were very kind and helpful at all hours!

  • A peaceful, charming retreat surrounded by friendly animals and free from city noise. – Hasna from Germany – 2 November 2024 (9/10)

An absolutely captivating place, made even more welcoming by the animals roaming around. It’s ideal for a relaxing getaway. The beds were comfortable, and being far from city noises, we slept deeply and peacefully. The breakfast also was a very nice plus.

What could be improved: The location was hard to reach without the help of the staff. They however were very nice to come pick us up when we got lost in the middle of the night.

  • This laid back gem of an escape is hard to describe – you have to feel it to know it. – Fiona from United Kingdom – 9 October 2024 (8/10)

The relaxed vibe, the pool, the gardens and the friendly staff

What could be improved: There were a few extras that we didn’t feel we should be charged for.

  • Very good – Emma from United Kingdom – 3 September 2024 (8/10)

So, the first thing to note that this is in the sticks amd from the approach you do wonder where the heck you are but as soon as you go through the gates all that changes.
Great pool, animals everywhere, lots of comfy places to sit in and out of the sun.
Accommodation is good, comfy amd clean.
There are a couple of little decoration niggles amd the shower would have benefitted from somewhere to hold the shower head but no other complaints.
    Food was OK.
They helpfully gave us a breakfast to take away which was great.
    Very handy for the airport.
A fun place to stay out of the hustle of Marrkech

What could be improved: A little bit of attention to detail to plasterwork and a dodgy looking light (we didn't use) in the room, but otherwise very command good value for money
