Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked down that narrow alley in the Kasbah district – you know how those derb addresses can be tricky to find, especially when you’re dragging luggage through those winding streets. But Le Pavillon de la Kasbah turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The entrance is pretty unassuming (which is typical for riads in this area), but once you step inside, it’s like entering a completely different world. The staff actually came out to meet me halfway down the street when they saw me looking lost with my suitcase, which was a nice touch since GPS basically gives up once you’re deep in the medina.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to keep that authentic Moroccan character while still feeling genuinely comfortable for travelers. The rooms have these gorgeous traditional touches – I’m talking hand-carved wooden details and beautiful tilework – but the beds are actually good quality and the AC works properly, which you can’t always count on in historic buildings like this. The spa is honestly the highlight though; after spending days wandering around Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks, those traditional hammam treatments hit differently. I mean, your feet will thank you after all that walking on cobblestones. The whole place has this peaceful, almost zen-like atmosphere that’s such a contrast to the bustling energy just outside the walls.

Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of the Kasbah district, which means you’re walking distance to the Saadian Tombs and El Badi Palace – though honestly, everything in Marrakech feels walkable until you actually try to navigate those maze-like streets at night. The hotel is tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant noise from motorbikes and vendors that you’d deal with if you stayed closer to the main squares, but you’re still only about a 10-minute walk to all the action. One thing to know is that taxis can’t actually get to the front door, so you’ll be doing a bit of walking with your luggage, but that’s pretty standard for this area. The breakfast spread is solid too – they do this great mix of Moroccan and international options, and you can eat it on the rooftop terrace with views over the old city walls. With a 9.1 rating, you can tell other travelers have had similarly positive experiences, and honestly, after staying there, I get why people keep coming back to this place.

  The hotel is right in the middle of the Kasbah and yet it is very peaceful inside, so you get to experience the hustle and bustle of Marrakech as soon as you step outside but you still get a good nights sleep in a very peaceful, riad inspired, building. The place is made magical by the owner Anne, who takes a genuine interest in your visit and makes all your restaurant and trip bookings for you. Anne's team are also extremely attentive, the breakfasts on the roof terrace are delicious. If you want to really experience Marrakech and enjoy the comforts of an excellent hotel, this is the best place!

  We had a very nice time at Le Pavillon. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were clean. We enjoyed the terrace a lot — it was perfect for relaxing.
  We did a bike tour from Marrakesh to Fez, and the owner kindly let us leave our bike bags at the hotel during the trip, which was incredibly helpful.

  This property is a hidden gem, walking distance from Medina. I had a wonderful stay at the property, the breakfast was really nice on the terrace. I also did hamam and massage, it was just perfect.

  Loved everything about the property. The location was excellent, and the hosts Anne and Abusammad were very welcoming and helpful. All the staff including the cleaners, and cooks were very polite and attentive. Loved our stay and we even managed to go to Bacha coffee thanks to Anne.
