Le Singe Rose Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of riads in Marrakech, and Le Singe Rose – which means “The Pink Monkey” if your French is rusty – honestly surprised me. It’s tucked away on Rue Riad Zitoun el Jdid, which is actually perfect because you’re deep enough in the medina to feel authentic but not so buried that you’ll get completely lost trying to find it with your luggage. The first time I walked through that heavy wooden door, I mean, you go from the chaos of the medina streets to this incredibly serene courtyard, and it’s like stepping into a different world entirely. The traditional tiles are gorgeous – proper zellige work, not the tourist-trap knockoffs you see everywhere – and there’s this fountain that actually helps mask the street noise, which trust me, you’ll appreciate if you’re a light sleeper.
What really gets me about this place is the attention to detail without being stuffy about it. The rooms have that classic riad feel with the thick walls keeping things cool (you’ll need that air conditioning maybe three months of the year, honestly), but they’ve managed to make everything feel lived-in rather than museum-like. The bathrooms are spacious – and I know that sounds boring, but after you’ve bumped your elbows in a few cramped tadelakt showers, you’ll understand why it matters. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably end up spending your evenings, watching the Atlas Mountains change colors at sunset while sipping mint tea or something stronger. It’s one of those spots where you can actually see the call to prayer happening across the city’s minarets, which is pretty magical even if you’re not religious.
The staff here genuinely knows their stuff about Marrakech – they’ll point you toward the good hammams (skip the tourist ones near Jemaa el-Fna) and can arrange cooking classes that don’t feel like dinner theater. I appreciated that they didn’t hover but were always around when you needed them. The breakfast is solid traditional Moroccan fare, though honestly, you should venture out to try some of the local spots they’ll recommend. Getting there from the airport is straightforward enough, though like anywhere in the medina, your taxi will drop you at the nearest accessible point and you’ll walk the last bit through the alleys – it’s part of the charm, really. The location puts you about a ten-minute walk from the main square, close enough to dive into the action but far enough that you can actually sleep at night. For a 4-star place, it punches well above its weight, and that 9.5 rating? Yeah, I get it.

Meravigliosa – Francesca from Italy – 7 July 2025 (9/10)
Ci torneremo sicuramente!

An Unforgettable Stay at Le Singe Rose
We stayed in Marrakech from June 18 to 23, and what truly made this trip unforgettable was our stay at the beautiful hotel Le Singe Rose. The interior is absolutely stunning and immediately made us feel at home. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff.
A special thank you to Brahim and Rashid – two incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful people who took care of us in the best possible way. They were always there for us and made us feel truly welcome. Absolute stars!
The only small challenge was finding the hotel at first. Thankfully, some friendly locals helped us out. Tip: follow the Céline Spa sign – the hotel is located right next to it.
If we ever return to Marrakech, we will definitely book this hotel again.
What could be improved: Plusieurs points sont toutefois à améliorer.
Dommage.Location quality & the Riad was exquisite. – Kelly from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (10/10)
Just amazing
What could be improved: The staff yuniss & rashid was so helpful polite & nothing was to much trouble.
All the staff were the best.
I will be returning next month true sure.A lovely, clean riad with friendly staff. – Uziel from United Kingdom – 5 June 2025 (10/10)
The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel like we were part of their family. When me and my wife went on an excursion for a night, we got back and they expressed that they were worried about us (we hadn't told them we were away for the night).
It was our honeymoon and they had left us a lovely bouquet or roses, rose petals in the bathtub and sprinked on the bed.
The bathroom was a lovely spacious wet room with a huge shared sink that stretched the width of the room. The shower was lovely and hot with good pressure.
Breakfasts were simple but sufficient.
The riad is well looked after. Lovely and clean with cleaners available throughout the day.
The road is located a minute away from two very nice spas (Alphais and Celine). We had a luxurious hammam, massage and facial package and Alphais and it was GLORIOUS. Lovely to be able to walk straight back to the riad and relax afterwards.
What could be improved: They need to be clearer with the spa prices. We were told that there was a free hammam included and then were hit with high prices and an extra cost for someone to carry out the hammam (we were expected to do it ourselves). The manager worked it out for us in the end. It was a communication issue. My wife had a manicure and pedicure but they were not set up for it. She had to do it on a chair in her room while the beautician sat on the floor in the dimly lit room. I think they need to have a leaflet with prices and get better set up for spa treatments.
Directions to the riad need to be made clearer. The GPS location on Google Maps is incorrect and locals had to help us find the place through alleys. Maybe arranging to meet the guests on the main road for the first night would be a good idea.
A greater choice for breakfast would be nice. The waiter asked us what we wanted but gave us no option but eggs every day. The orange juice was often watered down.Great stay, very clean, great staff. – Arthur from United Kingdom – 4 June 2025 (9/10)
For a new Riad, the place was very clean and the staff were very helpful. We didn't have any problem asking for suggestions on what to do or where to go, and the free tea was always very welcome. I would definitely go back
What could be improved: Nothing that I dislike, but when we got to the airport, the shuttle that was supposed to pick us up never showed, as the car broke down. It wasn't the Riad's fault, and they were very sorry for what happened, but it's just something to be aware of. Also, there could be better signs indicating how to get to the Riad from the narrow street with all the shops.New Riad staffed by wonderful people – Paul from United Kingdom – 9 May 2025 (9/10)
Breakfast on the roof, which was lovely
What could be improved: Maybe a larger choiceExceptional – Azalah from United Kingdom – 4 May 2025 (10/10)
This riad is perfect, cannot fault the service the location and the staffs.
It’s a brand new riad and truly was built with love.
What could be improved: If I had to choose something I wasn’t happy with will be the lighting but this is only because I love white lighting for my make up however apart from that I cannot fault this riadExceptional – Emma from Italy – 19 April 2025 (10/10)
Everyone was so kind and helpful, the staff, the owners, the food is really good and the rooms are charming and tipical arabian style. The sauna is amazing.
Very central position, kind people. I would pick this the next time. It was safe place🌙🌼Amazing Amazing Amazing – Pjero from Croatia – 14 April 2025 (10/10)
It is completely new Riad, and I was the first guest in the room I was staying in. It is very cosy, extremely comfortable and I just love it. They have a private hammam which you can use for additional cost. Not to forget the most amazing personnel.
I highly recommend this place!
Also; I had a little challenge finding the place, so I contacted the property and they came to meet me at the place I was at.
Thank you Le Singe Rose
