LES JARDINS DE MARRAKECH Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Les Jardins de Marrakech, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The Route de Sidi Rahal isn’t exactly the tourist trail most people know, but that’s actually part of what makes this place special. It’s maybe 15 minutes from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa, but it feels like a completely different world. The moment you walk through the entrance, there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you – I mean, the gardens really are the star here, and whoever designed them knew what they were doing. You’ve got these winding paths between olive trees and rose bushes, and honestly, the sound of fountains everywhere kind of drowns out any city noise that might drift over from the main roads.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests’ names after just a day or two. The front desk team spoke this easy mix of Arabic, French, and English, switching between languages mid-conversation in that effortless way you only see in Morocco. My room overlooked the pool area, which – side note – never seemed to get that crowded even during what felt like peak season in March. The architecture hits that sweet spot between traditional Moroccan style and modern comfort without feeling like a theme park version of itself. You know what I mean? Some places try so hard to be “authentic” that they end up feeling fake, but this felt lived-in somehow. The tilework in the bathrooms was particularly gorgeous, though I did notice the shower pressure could be a bit inconsistent depending on the time of day.

The restaurant situation deserves a mention too – their tagine was legitimately good (and I’ve had my share of tourist-trap tagines that taste like they came from a packet). They do this breakfast spread on the terrace that’s worth getting up early for, especially if you can snag one of the tables near the garden edge. I actually spent most evenings just wandering around the property with a mint tea, discovering little seating areas tucked between the landscaping. The whole place has this 4-star rating, but it punches above its weight in terms of atmosphere and service – probably why it’s sitting at an 8.9 on the booking sites. If you’re looking for something that feels more residential than resort-y, but still has the amenities you want (decent WiFi, air conditioning that works, a pool you’d actually want to swim in), this hits the mark. Just know that you’ll want to grab taxis or rent a car if you’re planning to hit the souks regularly – it’s not walking distance, but that’s honestly part of the appeal.

Reviews of LES JARDINS DE MARRAKECH

  • Les Jardins de Marrakech is the perfect retreat for anyone seeking complete relaxation and disconnection from the busy w – Noureddine from Morocco – 16 June 2025 (10/10)

The property offers a perfect escape from daily life – time truly stops when you’re there. Despite being 40 minutes from Marrakech, the distance becomes an advantage as it creates complete tranquility. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, allowing you to disconnect from routine and fully enjoy every moment. The staff excellence stands out, particularly Ismail who was exceptionally cool and helpful, along with the friendly guard at the gate and the very nice manager. For internet needs, there’s decent WiFi near the pool area with around 8mb speed.

What could be improved: The main drawback is the location being quite far from Marrakech (40-minute drive), which might be inconvenient for those planning frequent city trips. WiFi connectivity is limited throughout most of the property, only available with good speed near the pool area. This could be challenging if you need constant internet access for work or communication.

  • A beautiful and relaxing place – Malorie from Switzerland – 24 April 2025 (10/10)

The location was very clean, peaceful and flourishing!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • An amazing stay in this beautiful garden property. – Mohamad from United Kingdom – 18 April 2025 (10/10)

It was such an amazing place to go after a few nights in the chaos of the Medina. Beautiful tranquil gardens are surrounded by walls that make you feel safe enough to let the kids roam around. One large pool and a smaller heated pool were great for us all to relax next to.
There was even a young horse and donkey that kept the kids amused. The tennis court and Boules court were also great.

What could be improved: If we had to fault anything, it would be the lack of WiFi in the rooms. We were out of reach and had to either sit by the big pool or go to the dining area. However, it’s not always a bad thing to disconnect yourself (and kids) from the internet!

  • Beautiful property with blooming flora and wonderful aromas abound! – Paul from United States – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

Very peaceful! When we arrived we pretty much had property to ourselves and it was so quiet and peaceful it was almost like we were at a Zen Garden retreat! The grounds are beautifully accented with flora and aromas of lavender, citrus throughout. We stayed an entire week, by the end of the week others with small children checked in and there went our Zen Garden, oh well it was nice while it lasted!! LOL. The staff were very friendly and were welcoming every morning! We definitely would stay here again and highly recommend!

What could be improved: It was a bit far from town and really nothing around within walking distance, but you really wouldn’t want to venture out on foot anyway. Car is a must if you want to get out and about.

  • Very good – Rogerio from Portugal – 29 March 2025 (8/10)

The staff were superb, from the young man opening the compound gate, to the concierge, Ismail, to the kitchen staff and the manager, Jean-Baptiste. They were all very helpful and assisted in every way possible to make us happy and enjoy our time. Our gluten intolerance was catered for at breakfast and Ismail and his staff were very attentive. I would highly recommend using the hotel sourced drivers. They were cheaper and knew the whereabouts of the hotel, which was difficult to find on Google by other drivers. The hotel rooms were large and the beds and mattresses huge and comfortable and they were clean.

What could be improved: Minor things that could be improved. The shower was not great. The shower head needed to be descaled. The coffee table was lopsided and needs to be replaced. The cushions for the garden chairs outside need to be replaced. They are too thin and you can't sit for long on the hard metal chair. As for the other facilities like the spa, we did not use them as they did not look operational.

  • Exceptional – One from United States – 18 February 2025 (10/10)

    food exellent
excellent service, hotel, staff, view and more

  • It was the perfect 5x days of relaxation after 3x days hiking up Mount Toubkal – Phillip from Ireland – 20 November 2024 (10/10)

The food was exceptional and extremely tasty. The whole property/resort is an amazing place. As there were so few other people staying, it felt like our own private retreat as we hardly ever saw anyone 😊 Pierre is a great host with a magnificent property. Ismail is an exceptional worker who never seemed to stop working whether it is serving our breakfast, lunch or dinner and even drinks from the bar. The pool area was great, with a second smaller pool tucked away. The room we had was like our own mini castle with the upstairs balcony looking over the whole property. We were lucky to have great sunrises every morning. We pulled the living room sofa onto the balcony to be able to watch it each morning before going to breakfast. The orange juice was literally made from the oranges from all the orange trees in the gardens, so it could not be any fresher

What could be improved: Personally, I cannot think of anything we didn't like. For somebody who stays here and wishes to travel daily, then you will need to rent a car. It's about 40mins to Marrakech in a taxi. It is remote. The only time we left, was to head to the airport to come home.

  • Exceptional – Emma from United Kingdom – 10 November 2024 (10/10)

Everything in this place is beautiful! The staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Amazing retreat, taking relaxation to a new level – Jamie from United Kingdom – 18 September 2024 (10/10)

Absolutely beautiful setting, 2 pools, beautiful large garden, all together brilliant setting. The staff can't do enough for you from the moment you enter the complex. Special mention to Zach and Ismael who were front of the house and attended our every needs. The food was amazing (estimated at 200 MAD for dinner). Breakfast was included and had a little bit of everything so was very appetising. Very quiet so if you are looking for a spa like relaxation place this is the place to be. The rooms are spacious and comfy with a beautiful large morrocan bath.

What could be improved: This is just a note so people can be aware and not a criticism of the place- the complex is actually 40-50 mins from marrackech city (they do have a driver mustafa who is always on hand to taxi you at around 200 MAD per trip). There's not much around the complex it is very remote and lunch/dinner is at set times so would be worth hiring a car or making sure you have enough money for taxis.

  • A relaxing palace with a no-nonsense approach of true hospitality and joy – Vanwing from Belgium – 11 September 2024 (10/10)

Les Jardins de Marrakech is a spacious paradise with architecture straight out of a fairy tale. It is a quiet oasis with an ambiance we enjoyed to the fullest!

Our room (n°1) was extra-large, including a separate room for our daughter, a large bathroom (shower & luxury bathtub!) a separate restroom and a big terrasse. The 2 airco's are state of the art, the hygiene and daily housekeeping is outstanding. Excellent, also for a longer stay.

The restaurant provides a full breakfast, fresh juice, delicious coffee and tea, you can order you eggs how you like them. Lunch and dinner are offered at reasonable prices and served in a magnificent setting. Note that the menu is not 'à la carte', each day a fixed 3 courses menu is presented, probably depending on market availabilities, freshness and quality.
The facilities comprehend a large swimming pool, a smaller heated swimming pool, different nice sitting areas to relax, a beautiful bar, patio and leisure facilities such as pétanque, table tennis, and tennis. The massage we booked at the hotel met all standards and was excellent.

But what most stands out is the hospitality of the staff. You can see that they are a happy community, well-managed, professional but warm, caring and kind of heart. It was a blessing for our family to be surrounded and helped by Pierre, Moumaïma, Ismaël, Zacharia and the cooks and house staff. In a most relaxed and flexible style, they did everything in their power to facilitate us all, no question was too much. Thanks to all of them for making this holiday a wonderful experience!

What could be improved: Nothing. Just take into account that the place is a 40 minutes drive from the center of Marrakesh. So you will need a renting car or budget taxi costs if you want to get around.
