Look, I’ll be straight with you – when I first pulled up to L’Havre de Paix in the Mebrouka district, I wasn’t expecting much from what seemed like just another residential building. But honestly? This place surprised me in the best way possible. The name literally means “Haven of Peace” and once you’re inside, you get it. The two-bedroom setup is actually pretty clever – it feels more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room, which I mean, some people love that homey vibe and others might miss the full hotel service thing.

What really sold me on this spot was how it sits in this quieter pocket of Marrakech but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The Mebrouka area isn’t touristy at all (which honestly can be refreshing when you need a break from the medina crowds), but you’re maybe a 10-minute taxi ride from the main action. The building itself is part of this newer residential complex, so everything feels clean and modern – a nice contrast if you’ve been wandering around the ancient medina all day. You know what I appreciated? The apartment actually stays cool during those brutal afternoon hours when Marrakech heat hits different. The AC works properly, which… well, anyone who’s traveled in Morocco in summer knows that’s not always a given.

The whole setup works really well for families or couples who want space to spread out. There’s a proper kitchen if you want to grab some ingredients from the local markets and try your hand at cooking – and honestly, after a few days of tagines and couscous (not that I’m complaining), sometimes you just want to make yourself a simple breakfast. The beds are comfortable enough, though I’d say the main bedroom is definitely better than the second one if you’re traveling with friends and need to call dibs. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in Marrakech will tell you is basically a miracle. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury resort territory, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. I’d honestly recommend it if you want that local neighborhood feel while still having a comfortable, modern base to come back to after long days of exploring.

  Cierto es que el piso por dentro estaba bastante limpio, pero las zonas comunes (escalera comunitaria de acceso a la vivienda y alrededores) apestaba a excrementos de gato.
  
  What could be improved: Dentro de la vivienda el techo del baño estaba lleno de humedades. El termo es eléctrico y con poca capacidad de agua, por lo que una familia entera ducharse es INVIABLE. Además el mando del aire no tenía pilas, por las noches hacía frío para bañar a los niños y era imposible caldear la vivienda.
  Por otro lado el tema de la luz, una vez amanece es muy difícil dormir, ya que no hay persianas y las cortinas no son nada opacas, por lo que entra mucha mucha luz.
  Por la noche había mucho ruido de otros vecinos hasta bien tarde, por lo que el descanso tampoco pudo ser óptimo.
