Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Marrakech, but this apartment on Avenue Mohammed V actually surprised me – and honestly, that’s saying something because I’m usually pretty skeptical about places with names like “Lux apt” (I mean, come on). But you know what? Sometimes the simple approach works.

The location is what really sold me. You’re right in the heart of Gueliz, which – if you’ve never been – is basically the modern part of Marrakech where actual people live and work, not just the tourist circus of the medina. Don’t get me wrong, I love the old city, but there’s something refreshing about being able to walk to a normal café for breakfast without dodging tour groups at 7 AM. Avenue Mohammed V is this wide, tree-lined street with actual sidewalks (revolutionary concept in Morocco, trust me), and you’re maybe a 10-minute walk from Carré Eden shopping center if you need to grab anything from their Marjane supermarket. The trams run right down the avenue too, so getting to the medina is dead simple when you’re ready for that chaos.

The apartment itself is surprisingly well put together – I was expecting typical rental property shortcuts, but whoever set this up actually thought about how people live. The jacuzzi isn’t some tiny corner tub; it’s proper sized and the water pressure is solid, which honestly made my day after walking around the souks all afternoon. The whole place feels clean and modern without being sterile, if that makes sense. Air conditioning that actually works (crucial in summer – I learned this the hard way), decent WiFi, and a kitchen that’s functional if you want to cook. The building’s pretty quiet too, though you’ll hear some street noise during the day since Mohammed V is a main thoroughfare. Nothing terrible, just city sounds.

What I really appreciated was how straightforward everything was – check-in was smooth, the place looked exactly like the photos (miracle of miracles), and when I had a question about the heating (visited in January, which gets surprisingly chilly), someone actually responded quickly. You’re also walking distance from some genuinely good restaurants that aren’t tourist traps – there’s this little place called La Trattoria about five minutes away that does excellent Italian food, and if you head toward the train station, you’ll find some solid Moroccan spots that locals actually eat at.

The 9.6 rating makes sense to me now. It’s not trying to be some luxury resort experience, but it nails what it promises – comfortable, clean, well-located, and that jacuzzi really does hit the spot after a long day of exploring. Plus, you’re getting the best of both worlds: easy access to traditional Marrakech when you want it, but you can also grab a coffee at a regular café, find a pharmacy that stocks normal medicine, or just sit on a bench under the palm trees on the avenue and watch the city go by. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

    This is a wonderful apartment! The rooms are big and decorated beautifully. Great air conditioning and Wi-Fi, very comfortable beds. Having the hot tub on the balcony was a real luxury. The location is perfect for exploring Marrakesh, very central and safe. Near plenty of restaurants, shops and cafés. We even found an Irish bar which was less than 10 minutes walk away. Our host, Hakim, was so helpful. We had an issue with the hot water and he was there within a half hour to sort it out. I would highly recommend a stay at this apartment, many thanks to Hakim for his kind attention.

    Our first visit to the great city of Marrakech and this apartment is ideally located in the modern area of Gueliz. We used taxis to go to the Medina (haggled fare to around 60-70 MAD) and historic sights but it is somewhat walkable to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about 20 minutes. On arrival we met Hakim who showed us around and was very kind and helpful. The apartment is very large and beautifully airy. Spotlessly clean and the added bonus of a jacuzzi on the balcony is superb. Coffee machine a definite bonus. The adjoining shower rooms in both double bedrooms work very well with great hot/cold water pressure. The decor is interesting with wonderful potted giant cactus plants, inside and out! The location is in a quiet pedestrianised street and is excellently placed for exploring the upend area with multitude of shops, restaurants, cafes,, and street life. Highly recommend this spacious apartment for adding that luxury element to a busy city break that is Marrakech.

    What could be improved: The early morning call to prayer from the nearby mosque can disturb sleep but it's not every morning.. This is Muslim country after all and all part of the package.

    Large, comfortable, clean, modernly furnished apartment in a modern, safe part of the city. Convenient parking right in the building. The apartment is very clean and extremely well furnished.     The photos don’t do the apartment justice. Beautifully furnished with comfortable seating and really nice artwork. The cactus in those photos are real! Super comfortable beds. Exceptionally clean. The host was amazing – talked to both of our drivers to make sure that our drop off and pick up were seamless, met us at the apartment, had the hot tub heated up for us, assisted with luggage. Perfect location outside the hustle of the medina with several good restaurants within a few yards of the apartment. I just cannot say enough great things about the apartment!
