You know what hit me first when I pulled up to Prestigia Golf Marrakech? The sheer scale of the place – it’s tucked into this sprawling development called Prestigia Opale, which honestly feels more like a private resort community than just another hotel. The drive from the medina takes about 25 minutes (traffic depending), and you’ll notice the landscape shifting from the bustling city chaos to these perfectly manicured golf fairways that seem to stretch forever toward the Atlas Mountains. I mean, the mountain views here are absolutely ridiculous – especially in the morning when the light hits those peaks just right and you’re sipping coffee on your balcony thinking this can’t actually be real life.

The golf course itself is the real star of the show, and I’m saying this as someone who’s played courses all over Morocco. It’s challenging without being punishing, with these strategic water hazards and bunkers that actually make you think about your shots. What surprised me most was how well-maintained everything is – the greens are consistently fast, the fairways are pristine, and the staff actually knows golf (not always a given at resort courses). The pool area is where you’ll probably spend your afternoons though, especially during summer when even the locals avoid midday sun. It’s this massive lagoon-style setup with different depths and these perfect little alcoves where you can escape the crowds. The poolside service is spot-on too – they remember your drink order after the first day, which is always a nice touch.

Here’s what really sets this place apart from other luxury spots in Marrakech: the space. While everyone’s cramming into riads in the medina (which have their charm, don’t get me wrong), you’ve got actual room to breathe here. The suites are genuinely spacious with these floor-to-ceiling windows that frame those mountain views I mentioned. The bathrooms are ridiculously luxurious – marble everything, rainfall showers, and bathtubs where you can actually stretch out. Check-in was seamless, parking is never an issue (huge plus if you’re renting a car), and the noise level is basically nonexistent since you’re away from the city center. The only minor downside? You’re definitely going to need transportation if you want to explore Marrakech proper, but honestly, after a day of golf and lounging by that pool with the Atlas Mountains as your backdrop, you might find yourself perfectly content staying put. The restaurant on-site is surprisingly good too – they do this incredible tagine that rivals anything I’ve had in the medina, and the wine list actually has some decent Moroccan bottles that most tourists never discover.

It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Marrakech, and I’d definitely love to return in the future. Highly recommended!

  The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable, and the pool was excellent – clean, not crowded at all, with sunbeds and shades. Comms with the host were great too. There's also a good variety of teapots and other culinary equipment in the kitchen! It's near the airport, but the planes overhead weren't an issue for us at all. You can also walk across the complex to a small supermarket and nearby restaurants. I would totally recommend as a location to relax after a few days in the vibrant Medina area of the city.
  
  What could be improved: This is a very small point, but the Atlas Mountains aren't hugely visible from the apartment.
