Luxury apartment in Marrakech Overview
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked into this apartment in the Residences Prestige Targa complex, I actually forgot I was in Marrakech for a hot second. I mean, the whole building has this sleek, modern vibe that’s honestly a refreshing break from the beautiful chaos of the medina – and trust me, sometimes after a long day of haggling in the souks, you just want to collapse somewhere that feels like a proper sanctuary.
The apartment itself is on the ground floor (which they call Våning 0 here – took me a minute to figure that out), and honestly, that’s kind of perfect because you’re not dealing with stairs when you’re hauling luggage or groceries from the Carrefour down the road. The space feels way more luxurious than the photos suggest – there’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get with vacation rentals. The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to cook (and the local markets are incredible, so you’ll want to), plus the air conditioning works like a dream, which… well, if you’ve been to Marrakech in summer, you’ll understand why that’s not a small thing.
What really sold me on the location though is that you’re far enough from the tourist madness to actually sleep at night, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about fifteen minutes. The Targa area itself is sort of this quiet residential neighborhood where you’ll see actual Moroccan families going about their daily lives – kids playing in the courtyards, women chatting on balconies, that kind of authentic slice of life you miss when you’re staying right in the tourist zone. There’s a decent café around the corner where the coffee is strong and cheap, and the guys who run it will remember your order after day two. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Marrakech will tell you is basically a miracle. The whole complex feels secure without being stuffy – there’s a gate, but it’s not like you’re trapped in some sterile resort bubble. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra three days because, honestly, I just didn’t want to leave.
